Best entertainment on You Tube
generalbas197217 June 2017
If you love movies. If you love Trivia and if you love fun exciting entertainment, then the Movie Trivia Schmoedown is something you need to check out. It started back in 2014 on the Schmoes Know You Tube channel and was called The Ultimate Schmoedown. Since then it has just grown and grown and the way it runs now is so professional so tight and so entertaining that you are drawn to put Collider, WHO is producing the show, on your alerts so as soon as a new match comes up you Watch it right a way.

Right now there are 3 main Leagues in the Movie Trivia Schmoedown.

Singles: 2 people battle it out in a 3 round match, where both movie knowledge and a bit luck can play a factor of whose the Winner.

Tag Team: 2 Teams with 2 persons on each team battle it out in a 3 round match.

Innergeekdom: 2-5 players battle it out in a 3-5 round match which only consists of questions from MCU, DCU, DC movies, Marvel movies, Lord Of The Rings, Harry Potter, Star Wars and Star Trek.

Besides those there are events like only Star Wars matches, Champion matches , personal vendetta matches etc.

Every match is hosted by the Commishioner, Kristian Harloff WHO together with his partner Mark "baby carrots" Ellis are the brains behind this thing. The Movie Trivia Schmoedown has become SO popular that there are other You Tube channels doing reaction videos to the matches. Which makes it even more fun to Watch.

Even "real" movie stars have now started to play in the Movie Trivia Schmoedown. People like Samm Levine, Katee Sackhoff, Sam Witwer, The cast of the Power Rangers movie, Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Brian Goodman and more. But also movie critics like Scott Mantz, Alicia Malone, William Bibbiani, Alonso Duralde, Christy Lemire and even the editor in chief of Rotten Tomatoes Matt Atchity.

the Movie Trivia Schmoedown is just growing and growing and if you haven't watched it yet go to colliders You Tube page and start watching it, you will not regret it. https://www.YouTube.com/channel/UCWvMmm_sSdgALpo1Ci4WvtQ

If game shows and pro wrestling had a baby...
pieceofgosa-307709 July 2017
Back in 2014, friends and youtubers, Kristian Harloff & Mark Ellis had an idea. They loved movies, they loved sports and they wanted to combine the two. They came up with the idea of a movie trivia competition which would borrow elements from combat sports and sports entertainment (mma & pro wrestling). They brought the characters and the colour and the story lines and with the "Ultimate Schmoedown" created a tournament that was great fun to watch. Fast forward and the Schmoedown has evolved into a fully fledged league. Many competitors drawn from the world of YouTube critics, movie bloggers and online personalities have competed in the Schmoedown and it only continues to grow in size, scale and popularity. Consisting of a singles league, a team league and an innergeekdom division, matches are posted on Youtube each Tuesday and Friday. In the last year or so they have started to organize larger, "pay-per- view" style events, such as the recent "Collider Collision" which had two #1 contenders matches and two championship matches including a triple threat match for the singles title between Mark "Yodi" Reilly (incumbent champion and senior writer for Collider video), John "The Outlaw" Rocha (fmr champ, actor and host of the Ciniphiles podcast) and "Dangerous" Dan Murrell (fmr champ, senior writer and critic for Screen Junkies).

I'll conclude by saying that although the show maintains "kayfabe" (a pro wrestling term meaning the illusion of reality), the matches themselves are all "shoot" contests, that is to say that the matches are not rigged or predetermined like pro wrestling is !!

Great for anyone, movie fan or not
lazyguyismax22 October 2017
I have shown this show to many friends. Each time they give me a funny look and call me a dork. By the end of the episode, without exception, they ask how often these are posted and if they can watch with me. They always acknowledge that they know nothing about movies, but they are completely hooked nonetheless. The hardest thing to catch them up on is history and rivalries, but even without me explaining it to them, the pre-game intro and smack talk does a good job with the exposition. Can't recommend this show enough, even knowing full well how dorky I sound when talking about it.

wrestling style movie trivia
phakn28 August 2017
very entertaining with a good mix of scripted drama and unscripted matches. there are people to root for and against. truly entertaining and something I look forward to every week. the only draw back is that not all the jokes and humor in general land for me, but to be fair to every one I hate comedy's and don't laugh much. so take that part with a grain of salt.

Best damn show

If you love movies, this show is an absolute must watch. If you love sports, this show is an absolute must watch. In only a few short seasons the league has expanded and gotten more sophisticated and professional while still maintaining the insanity and fun that it began with.

Perfect combination of scripted drama and compelling characters with actual uncompromising competition.

The geniuses behind this drew from both their inspiration and experience working with the WWE. It will absolutely get wrestling fans into movie trivia. For me, the Schmoedown may actually get me to start watching wrestling for the first time in my life.

I look forward to the show each and every week pace around my apartment nervous and on edge when my favorite personalities are competing.

With such an abundance of sources of entertainment these days, the Schmoedown stands apart by making you feel like your close friends are competing for glory in a topic we all love.

Perfect! Entertaining, hilarious and thrilling in every way.

The Movie Trivia Schmoedown is something else. Full of movie experts, pundits, reviewers and many others, this show sees your favourites battle against each other in a game of movie trivia (or even Star Wars trivia)

Some of the twists and turns within this show are shocking, especially when you hear that the matches are not set up in anyway and it still manages to shock me a year and a bit in. The recent Star Wars 'Iron Man' match in the Spectacular was an outstanding piece of entertainment.

This Schmoedown has some extremely high production values and every single thing that is put together to create the events such as the Free For All or Spectacular amazes me when it comes around every year.

Like Movie Trivia? Quiz yourself! Like the WWE or UFC? Enjoy the rivalries and theatrics of the games and the factions of the leagues! Like movie experts, reviewers or pundits? Watch them battle each other in a thrilling battle of movie trivia.

Give it a shot and you'll be hooked. Let's get ready to Schmoedown!

Entertaining even if you are bad at movie trivia
Bryan-19 August 2017
Currently about 140 episodes in, this is the ultimate movie trivia game. There are singles, team games, specialized games, and plenty of humor coming from the witty characters that play and commentate. Editing is top notch. I've watched them all twice now. It should be a lot bigger than it is. Just watch it!

Painful to watch

Cheesier than a lump or aged cheddar.

Movie Trivia Schmoedown manages to transform movie trivia into something that is completely unwatchable. Over the top acting, fake responses, ridiculous contestants, the entire show is a disaster while pretending its not.

Save your time and pass on this one.
