The Best Documentary Film On This Subject
sue-7574923 October 2019
I am not a film critic, in fact this is my first review here, although I regularly check out IMDB as I do watch a lot of movies. What has prompted me to write a review now is that I am a researcher of exceptional human experiences, which includes UFOs. And it is from that perspective that I can honestly say that this is by far the best film I have seen on this subject. I won't add any potential spoiler, but if you have any interest in UFOs, or mysteries this film is well worth watching.

Exellent movie. Great documentary UFO bright spot!

Warning: Spoilers
There was some controversy inside the UFO Argentinian investigators, because there is a fraction (they worked with this case since the beggining) thinking that "you never ever should mix UFOs and beliefs and new age stuff". Ergo, they think automatically that this movie was made only for making money, there was some stuff about the case that never was shown, the Guarani connection was forced and they almost machiavellically manipulated Juan, the main character, to say stuff that (presumably) Juan would never say.

That being said, the movie is so good! It actually starts with the director's journey and then comes the transition to the main character's journey. While you see actually Juan's life, you connect with his eyes and the soulful truth about what he experienced.

The case is one of the most important (if not the most) Argentinian cases, and it's well described and shown, even the special effect moment. The case itself, if you include every detail, could be a 2hr movie itself, but that would be a dry documentary and this was more a storytelling of a journey, showing the emotional impact of that experience in a today grown guy.

The intention of the director (and sub-character) was nobly trying to help Juan to connect with "the why", wich is psychollogically a help itself. They went into Juan Guarani origins and finally Juan find himself happy and deeply connected to a supporting belief (to say at least). Then you see Juan eyes again, and he is now emotionally grown as a consequence of embracing his memories, a grounded man.

So yeah, some stuff about the case is not shown (like the small entity feeding with meat the other entity, or him racing off with the horse and a glove, and the final persecution against a flying door and a lightning ball / I KNOW, WHAT A WEIRD AND AMAZING CASE! /)

But the movie is excellent. Storytelling is good, solid. Music is very good. Character is real. Case is real.

Beautiful Portray of Life's Muli Dimensions
mariuchka6 February 2020
I found this deeply touching and a beautiful glimpse into spiritual, inter and outter dimensional experiences of real people's inexplicable journeys into the unknown. Watch out Georgio this guy did an excellent heart wrenching documentary touching on UFOs and other dimensions. No artifacts were needed, merely pure human spirit. I watched not knowing what to expect and was moved to tears. The only thing I found were the subtitles (language translations) were hard to read due to the background being too light. Excellent and beautiful documentary!

Director took a different approach

This documentary was good, speaking in terms of just "documentaries." It was shot well with the intention of creating a human connection rather than an alien one. Most viewers that actually find this documentary, find it through the fascination of life beyond Earth. That is where this doc fails. The director chose to narrate the impact someone was enduring versus the actual event. If your into humans and how they cant cope seeing an alien craft...by all means watch this doc. If your actually into evidence and theory...watch Unacknowledged.

Beautiful, Moving and Mind-changing...

This beautiful, hauntingly human movie pulls us in to a place of deep feeling. The texture, music, sights and sounds of "Witness of Another World" draw us into a state of attention and anticipation as the story unfolds of Juan Perez, an Argentinian gaucho, whose experience of a close encounter as a boy of 12 profoundly altered the course of his life.

With great vulnerability and courage Juan Perez invites the filmmaker, Alan Stivelman - and us - into his life. In so doing he allows us a new insight into some unfamiliar aspects of the close encounter phenomenon.

In my own research I have come to believe that the world's indigenous narratives hold ancestral memories which speak powerfully to the question of ET contact, human consciousness and our relationship with the universe. I have never seen a movie - documentary or fiction - that has illustrated these interweaving threads as powerfully as Alan Stivelman's movie.

You will not think or feel the same about ET contact after you have seen "Witness to Another World." And whatever your views on the topics of UFOs, ETs and close encounters, watch this movie and I guarantee you will come away saying, "Thank you Juan Perez for your courage in making the journey you did. And thank you Alan Stivelman for your courage in bringing the story to us."

Fell far short of my expectations
montgomerynj6 February 2021
I had already heard the story of this man from Argentina who witnessed and entered a ufo spacecraft at a young age and it was fascinating. I was so excited to find that the film made about it was available on Amazon Prime so I watched it the next day. If I hadn't already been familiar with the story I would have been completely lost. It was not at all clear what this film was about and it moved so slowly and focused on his current life 30 years later of him living as a hermit. At no point did they discuss or animate the details of his actual encounter because according to the creator, it was too painful a subject to discuss with him?! So then don't make the movie, which was completely empty. So much potential, but zero realization. I was so disappointed and couldn't even pay attention the entire movie. Very bad film.
