Amazing performances, not so great plot
DavidTheFox8 November 2018
Review: Although the script and idea were good, the movie overall felt pretty unachieved, with a main plot that felt unconcluded and forgettable characters with whom I felt no connection. With that being said the movie overall is okay to see in an afternoon where you have nothing else to do, the acting is top notch from both main actors, which present themselves as two promising stars in the Korean scenario, particularly the main actor Jung-min Park who also appeared early this year in "Keys to the Heart" with an absolutely fantastic role as a handicapped kid, now plays a completely different character being a unachieved rapper with a lot of unresolved childhood issues. Worth seeing for the performances.

Disappointing direction from Lee Jun-Ik

The story itself and its development are okay. However, gosh, it's very slow-paced for some reason, feeling elongated and dragged along. Script is trying to be poetic, but the result turns out to be awkward, tear-jerking, and infantile. Two main actors do not meet the expectation of viewers because we know they are brilliant actors in previous works. Park's rapping is just so hard to watch and listen. Occasionally raps representing Hak-soo's mind are inserted on and off, and paradoxically they really interrupt the flow of the story and lessen the focus of audience. This interruption accumulates, and the final performance on the stage becomes even cringy.
