A Return to Form

I honestly don't understand how people can dislike this title. Rosario Dawson kills it, and Robin Lord Taylor steps it up from Dishonored 2. My only issue with it is how short it is. The story is cohesive, the gameplay is smooth and the animation and VA are solid. Worth buying, preferably on sale due to its length (or lack of it,) but would 100% recommend. If you're a fan of the Dishonored series, this is a must-play.

Death to My Patience

Warning: Spoilers
Initial reaction; I will be playing it several times more in the varying methods.

First off, I got an Xbox One S in early 2017. The past console I had was the first PlayStation and I got that in 1999, and before the Xbox One S; I have a GameCube. I'm not new to video games; been playing them since the early 1980s however, I'm always half or a full decade behind. The first game I got for the Xbox One was Dishonored: The Definitive Edition. I had no clue what that meant. It was $20 and the cover looked cool. When Dishonored 2 came out, I waited a few months for the price to come down (I'm not paying $60 for a video game; call me cheap or old if you like) and loved that game. Just got this dlc a few days ago (on disc). For me this game began unexciting. I was bored with the story, and the gameplay. The reason I like these games so much is the stealth. It makes you think. The first two games (especially the second) were like that plus really fun. This game really makes you think but unless--and this is my opinion--you're playing high chaos; it's not fun. The stealth, especially at the end, is too much thinking and if you're thinking too much, you're not enjoying the game. The only thing I liked was the Bank Heist. I didn't really care for anything else.

I played first on Medium (Normal) and did Stealth/No Kill. It took me exactly 20 hrs, 48 mins, and 40 secs to complete. I am one of 6.66% of Xbox One players to achieve that. I actually had to restart the last mission; I got to the end but I forgot about the key, where it was and what it opened. It was confusing (the first stage of the Void) and I just kept going in circles. Now, NG+ did add three powers from the second game into this one (taking away the new powers); which, I feel, would have made stealth more fun (with the six powers) but whatever...

I think the main problem was that there wasn't much interaction with npc's. The other dlc's had more interactions. This game didn't seem to adhere to the chaos system which placed an edge to the game. Maybe I expected too much. Sad way to end the series.

An Ok DLC
kelleant23 January 2018
While I was a great fan of Dishonored 2 I would have to say that this DLC was a bit of a disappointment. Personally a I feel Dishonored: Death of the Outsider was severely lacking in content, but is still worth playing at least once.
