Funny episode with awkward ending
ZergYourEnthusiasm31 July 2020
Warning: Spoilers
The previous episode concluded with Kenny Funkhouser's time with a prostitute being cut short by the security guard Leon hired to protect Larry from the Fatwa. In this episode we learn Kenny has died, which Larry amusingly is unfazed by, even though he indirectly caused his death. Larry's conversations with Tim Whatley aka Dr. Templeton are the highlight of this episode, ranging from truffles to chair shopping. The climax has panicked funeral-goers trampling Kenny's portrait, hilariously mirroring the way he died in the episode's funniest moment. This should have been the end, and I was surprised to not hear the classic theme start playing with Larry standing there having ruined everything. Instead it is followed by an odd scene with Jeff and Susie, unsatisfyingly tying up their storyline, and a scene with Larry and Dr. Templeton finally doing their chair shopping, in what could have been a funny moment, but instead feels awkward and forced. Overall a very funny episode with a few parts feeling slightly unnecessary or disjointed.

Fatwarama!

The predicaments our hero (Larry) finds himself in weekly are hilarious! The ongoing Larry vs Richard saga continues on...Both of them experts at annoyance... Of course; Funkhouser is always perfectly in character. Jeff and his Shrill wife make their weekly collision with Larry...But... Leon and Larry hit the ground running and their part is pretty good...Pretty pretty good... Brian Cranston is such a journeyman actor now...He has earned a "presence" He needs to do some sicko serial killer for his resume. Oh, he was LBJ...I guess that counts...:) Larry, is still making me laugh, and that's why I watch

It's still hilarious. What's wrong with the audience?

Curb Your Enthusiasm season 9 is amazing and just as strong as it's predecessors. This particular episode had all the classic elements of any fantastic episode from earlier seasons. People are weird.

Running with the Bulls

Warning: Spoilers
Curb is still funny, but these story lines are absolutely terrible at the moment. Usually the season long-arc has some developments, but it looks like we're just going to hear Larry shout, "Fatwa!" every week and that is that.

Leon has been weak this season, but he had the best line of the night with, "You told me to leave, you didn't say I couldn't come back."

Ted, Richard and Marty always deliver, but so far this was the weakest of the season.
