The four main characters once again all take their names from prominent members of the original team of BBC television series Doctor Who. Verity (Lambert), Sydney (Newman), Waris (Hussein), Mervyn (Pinfield). This follows on from the four characters in the first Harklets movie that share their names with the first four Doctors, Bill (Hartnell), Pat (Troughton), Jon (Pertwee) and Tom (Baker).
Once again, the movie finishes with Brian Blessed's infamous "Gordon's Alive" from the movie Flash Gordon.
The movie shown on the screen post-cleaning is a parody on the 1964 Pink Panther film 'A Shot In the Dark' starring Peter Sellers.
