Imagine a cross between Night of the Living Dead and My Dinner With Andre. Almost all of the mercifully brief run time is talk. They talk and talk and talk. Then the guy who wants to be Philip Seymour Hoffman delivers a bunch of heavy handed scriptural dialogue. Believe me when I tell you it *doesn't* get better.

Unimaginably Bad...

...Unless you're forced to watch it and don't have the built-in defense mechanism that allows you to deny the reality of watching it, then you'd have to admit how bad it is. To be fair, how can we define "bad" in this context? Morally reprehensible? No. For those with strict moral principles: nudity, excessive violence, mistreatment of animals? None of these. "Bad" in this context simply means mind-numbingly boring . I have a vivid imagination, but cannot imagine anyone not involved with this flick watching it for its entertainment value....

Fantastic production, phenomenal acting. This is FILM. The suspense was there from opening moment and never let up. The real time pace that may seem slow in comparison to lesser zombie gore movies worked majestically here to set up a truly disturbing creepiness. Great cinematography, excellent acting by all. In particular, Jason Whited's performance was positively riveting - damn, that guy can command with his vocal growl and facial tics and steadfast conviction. All the scripture didn't detract for atheist me; it merely became its own character, infecting John. I had no idea what would happen, which was a total gift and a testament to the quality of the writing. That end, though... outstanding! May I request a prequel: perhaps to be named Live Faith?
