The end scene with Cassidy and Peter Stone explains why Cassidy was unable to deal with the cases SVU handles and offered a transfer by Captain Cragen in "Disrobed (2000)".
This episode is inspired by the Larry Nassar trial.
This is Philip Winchester's first episode credited as a main cast member. Therefore, Winchester is the second main cast member on SVU to have been carried over from a show outside of the Law & Order franchise, the first being Richard Belzer, who was carried over from Homicide: Life on the Street (1993).
This is Cassidy's first appearance since the episode Mood (2017) earlier in the season. Benson also mentions in this episode that she hasn't spoken to Cassidy since he helped launch a child abuse investigation against her.
The Chicago Cubs are mentioned several times in this episode. The character Glanville was apparently named after Doug Glanville, who once played for the Cubs. Also, Stone mentions to a suspect that he used to play for the Cubs until he blew out his UCL, which is short for Ulnar collateral ligament. The UCL is a ligament of the elbow and connects the humerus (upper arm bone) to the ulna (the inner lower arm bone).
