Wow! some superb storywriting!

I gotta say, when Humans debuted,i found it interesting, well acted but nowhere near as deep, powerful, intense and provocative as the show it has evolved into at season 3s end..this is some seriously powerful, moving stuff here! I love these types of shows, such as humans ,battlestar galactica.Caprica , that depict the awakening of machines to consciousness and the revolt that is inevitable when those who were enslaved and made to serve begin to assert their desire of freedom and equality..the storylines with Mia and Niska are fantastic, to see what they have become and the transformational wave that has been initiated by them...This series has gone from interesting, to Very Intense, mindblowing and disturbing in its ascent to season 3...i love it and hope there is a season 4, the stage has certainly been set for its continuation..

Cancelled after all this success? Seriously?!
ProducersGuide23 November 2019
I am wondering why did they start making the series in the first place after they cancelled it with all the success and the fan base it made.

The governmental laws should find solutions for those networks ending their series in a way that insults and disrespects all the fans and their time!

Episode 308

Warning: Spoilers
If this is truly the end of the show they went out in a big way. Mia was the heart and soul of this series and that was probably the most impactful death they could have had.

The idea of a synth and human hybrid being something to look forward to in the future is a bit weird.

Still, an exciting conclusion to a bit of a shaky third season.

Fascinating storytelling faltering on technical details
andrey-balandin21 March 2019
Warning: Spoilers
The way that the lines of Niska, V/Odi, Mia Mattie and Leo come together is satisfying. The message of self-sacrifice (Mia, Laura and Neil) for the sake of peace and compassion is moving and inspiring. The prospect of the future of conscious life on Earth being the merger of humans and synths is compelling. However, the technicalities have not been the writers' strong suit before (remember how easy it has been in the earlier episodes even for a beginner programmer like Mattie to hack anything ?) and they take new lows in this episode. The great reveal of what project Basswood means has been underwhelming and lazy. Apparently, the best minds in UK couldn't come up with another way to kill synths then by power surges, and there is no surge protection anywhere in synth camps nor in the grid in general, seriously? How about a hack instead? That would have been within the logic of the show that everything is hackable, the green-eyed synths in particular. The writers mentioned "Product recall" and should have run with this idea - e.g. the government could have figured out a way to activate a massive memory wipe or reset all conscious synths to to base configuration! That would have equated to killing them in moral sense, but perhaps it wouldn't have made for brutal imagery of humans vs machines stand-off. The mixing of synth blood with human blood idea is beautiful on a metaphoric level but is a failure on the technical level. Synth blood is electrolyte and mixing it with human blood should spell death to a human (Leo), nor would it alter DNA to make for more advanced healing abilities, or better babies. If Leo's DNA wasn't modified there's no way Leo and Mattie's child could inherit Leo's super powers. Instead of resorting to metaphysics and mysticism of "mixing of blue and red blood", the writers could have used V in yet another transforming role and in keeping with the narrative that artificial intelligence is smarter - perhaps, V could have sent a vision to Max and Anatole with a way to modify Leo's DNA to save him and restore his tissues and brain, and perhaps give his child other special powers. This would have made sense, had the same outcome of Mattie bearing a wonder child but would have put the narrative back within the realm of scientific possibility.

1 star for being LAZY AF
rallierf112 July 2018
Warning: Spoilers
I am judging this episode without watching all of it nor this rating is representative of the series as a whole, but you would have guessed that genius level intelligence robots that know that humanity feels threatened by their existence ,and also depend on power that comes from humans, would have installed surge protectors or at least use a fuse that costs 10 cents to their charging stations. I guess they are not even ape intelligence level FFS I have fuses and surge protectors on my computer and my survival is not at stake... Either that or the scriptwriters got REALLY lazy and underestimate their audience's intelligence. I am disappointed!

There Is No Peace In Death.
wandernn1-81-68327419 September 2020
Warning: Spoilers
So after the annoying recap, NISKA wakes up in the bizarrest of places And guess who is there!!! IT IS ODI!!! BUT OF COURSE, ODI IS NO LONGER ODI.. ODI IS V.

+1 Star for the opening sequence, even tho we kinda knew ODI is where V went to hide, we didn't know that V / ODI was the synth 'that never sleeps'.

So Neha turned out to be a real ally to Laura. I always thought Neha would betray Laura and the synths, but i guess that's one I was wrong about. Neha brings Anita to Laura. And Laura tells Anita about Basswood. Basswood being the plan to eradicate all green eyed synths. Laura tells Anita she must warn the camps, but also they needed PROOF, proof of what the humans were planning to do.

Dryden suggests that this is going to be a humane way of putting down the synths. Haha, Neha disagrees. But the process is starting.

Leo and Max inform the other synths that Max killed Anton. And Leo tells them that the TRUTH is that they were created by David Elster to be slaves. Not to be conscious beings. And that David Elster doesn't deserve their worship or admiration.

Neha puts a name to what Dryden is about to do. He's about to MURDER these synths.

Niska identifies the job a GOD does, comparing V to a GOD as one who sits and observes his subjects while they suffer.

+1 Star for the identification of the job of a GOD.

They begin the power surges, designed to short out synths that are charging after they starved them for power. Anita shows up just in time to Max's camp and they unplug a bunch of synths before they are overloaded. Anita and Max evacuate all the synths from the camp before the humans can arrive to kill them.

Neha is caught by her own personal orange eye synth for broadcasting the information on Basswood. Dryden has her arrested. Neil goes to tell Laura what happened and Neil gives Laura the Basswood file, the whole operation against hte synths.

Laura goes on LIVE with a news show with the BAsswood file. Is it too late?

At Maxs camp, they try not to fight but the humans start one.

-1 Star for the synths not using lethal force. I'd kill myself some humans if I were them. Playing possum while the humans are trying to kill them is stupid.

The news camera are broadcasting LIVE however from the Max Camp. Anita sees the cameras. So does Dryden. Dryden sends in the troops to stop the fight between the human civvies and the synths. Anita extends a hand to the human who started the fight, and is bashed over the back of the head with a BAT on LIVE TV. They beat Anita with bats on LIVE TV as the troops rush in to stop the fight. Anita saying over and over , 'PEACE' on LIVE TV as her green eyes gradually turns to Gray.

At V's House, Niska and V continue their debate. V says that NISKA has great power. The POWER to save her people. That NISKA has faith. NISKA has humanity. NISKA has been loved, and knowing Love gives her these qualities.

At Max's camp, Max And LEO hold Anita's body. LEO tells Anita he will always be greatful for her LOVE. The LOVE that she didn't have to give to him.

Laura and Neil are arrested.

Toby and Mattie console Sophie. Mattie tells Sophie that Laura probably won't be home for a long time. Sophie still has Mia/Anita's shoes under her bed. Max carries MIA's body, through the streets.

Back at V's house, V imparts a part of herself to NISKA. They talk about blood. That synth blood mixed with human blood can create more powerful Humans. And that NISKA must be the leader now. The leader to bring Synths and Humans together like never before. By Blood.

Back at the Max Camp, Sam has stayed behind. So has Stanley. Stanley tells Sam he doesn't think they are going to need to fight anymore. Sam and Stanley start a game of hide and seek.

NISKA shows up to tell Mattie that the baby Mattie is carrying is the future, for all of us, as we have a vigil around MIA's body. And that everyone is how we end. A season finale that once again becomes a series finale because the show was cancelled. I would have been glad to see more even tho the show wasn't a GREAT show, but it was a GOOD show. And also, an incomplete show thanks to the cancellation. I will miss it.

This ep. tho, scores a 6/10

A lazy, ridiculous plot
searchingfortao4 December 2020
Warning: Spoilers
The end of a terribly disappointing season. They rolled out all of the overused tropes: martyred core character, the angry one finding religion, and the baby that will somehow save the world despite there being no evidence that synth "blood" even works like that. They even stole the panned sending of Mass Effect for their own... It's just lazy. The series probably should have ended with season 2.

From genius hacker to boring new Madonna
wissia19 February 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Of course, the biggest hacker in history ends up being the mere vessel for a "new" life. Doesn't matter what women on tv accomplish, the biggest achievement must always be getting pregnant.
