The Banzai Predicament

Warning: Spoilers
Nathan helps a shipping logistics company reduce the tariff costs of smoke detectors by marketing them as musical instruments. He makes and instructional DVD demonstrating the smoke detector as an instrument. He then holds music auditions and forms a band, putting their most talented guitar player on the smoke detector.

They write and record a song called Orphaned Skies in hopes it becomes a hit. They come up with the band name The Banzai Predicament. To gain recognition, he poses as Shell's vice president and hires a spokesperson to hold a meeting about recent oil spills. He puts the song in a commercial shown at the meeting and uploads it to the internet.

The band protests Shell by giving away free gas and playing their music in from of their gas station. This gains attention from the news, but doesn't impress the exporter. He ships a box of smoke detectors, marking them as musical instruments and avoids the tariff.

I think Nathan blew a good opportunity in this episode to actually make a hit song with the smoke detector. If Nathan played the smoke detector in the band and kept the best musician on guitar, the chances of making a hit song go way up. The guy was clearly not into playing the smoke detector and he could shred on guitar.
