An enlightning and informative view on Spiritism
Rodrigo_Amaro7 August 2023
Mankind's eternal questionings about our real purpose in life as brief mortal beings are a recurring thought to all people in the world and ever since the creation of man up until future generations of which we won't be able to see and follow. To reach out some enlightenment in the crazed technological world of today the challenge in finding a meaning, a purpose to it all is almost impossible and each person has their own personal idea, their personal beliefs and personal actions which can be defined by society, culture, religion or simply the way one lives and what one knows. And to a great majority, there's always the thoughts and ideas about what comes next, what comes after the end of our existence. Is there life after death? What happens after? Many religions and doctrines have their own answers for those.

This video project follows the Spiritism doctrine as developed by Allan Kardec in the 19th century, presenting its teachings and values revolving love, charity, good will and good deeds, and how we can evolve as people and also evolve as spirits living in different dimensions. It deals with our evolution as human beings and also as spiritual beings, and how those two worlds can find a connection and are in constant developments for a mutual progress, and also the ocasions in which a spirit (or soul, if you prefer) can return to life in ways to achieve a higher evolution.

I know my words won't suffice and usually I tend to write prolongued words but in this particular case the documentary covers the whole basics of Spiritism and some of Kardec's works that I urge you to watch it to form your own view about the doctrine, its importance and how it grew ever since its inception.

Along with that, there are brief moments where actor Ednei Giovenazzi plays Kardec in some re-enactments of his experiences and shows some of his writings. It's quite okay, it's a small biopic. Not sure if it was really necessary but it works.

The main presentation with countless archive images from all around the globe are greatly presented through the crystal clear narration of veteran actress Aracy Balabanian.

Everything is detailed, easy to follow and it's a very informative piece for everyone to learn something. It may not answer fully (to some) the eternal questionings of life and death but it certainly gives a great sense of enlightenment. 9/10.
