The Dick Cavett Show: Jerry Lewis (1973)

This episode of The Dick Cavett Show has Jerry Lewis stopping by for a chat and there are all sorts of interesting subjects here. The thing starts off with Cavett reading letters from people in the crowd and once Lewis is out they get right down to the movies. One of the most interesting subjects has Lewis talking about his relationship with movie critics and how he often uses them to help his skills. In the middle of the show the two men stand in front of the audience and answer some questions including some very funny ones. Of course, Martin is brought up during the Q&A session and towards the end Lewis is asked about it again. You can tell it was still a sore subject and his "what if they met again" is discussed and of course, we know it eventually happened a few years later. Also of interest today is Lewis talking about his "new" movie, which was THE DAY THE CLOWN CRIED and Lewis states he was editing it and America would be seeing it the following year.
