Misleading title for typical Wicked vault raid
The ten volumes of this decade-ago series don't amount to much, merely excerpting random scenes from random Wicked Pictures releases for fans who just can't sit through narrative. More recently the label has taken to compiling an endless stream of cleverly-monikered 4-hour (or even 16- hour, God save us) DVDs from its vaults, certainly a better buy.
This one dips back to the mid-'90s when Wicked was young, to deliver lesbo action involving Jenna Jameson and (separately) Lisa Ann. Otherwise, the scenes from some fine films (e.g., "The Muse" and "The Oracle") merely demonstrate the folly of removing Adult Cinema vignettes from their context in a complete film -one is left with merely generic humping.
Perhaps the match-up of big-busters Audrey Bitoni and Stormy Daniels, a sort of breasty summit meeting, in "The Muse" was worth anthologizing for posterity, but why not just reissue "The Muse" in its entirety? My continuum theory of Cinema is reflected in this remark - long ago I would have called for a moratorium (unions be damned) on film industry production, and instead book quality old films of all sorts into the nation's theaters for not merely nostalgia buffs but current generations to see what solid movie-making is all about, and enjoy it. The various movie channels starting with Turner/AMC try to do this, but a universal experiment in classics rather than intolerable new junk (now it's nearly all DC, Marvel, etc.) would work, and the same is even more true of Adult Cinema.
