The minute I opened the road to 9/11 I was very worried, as the symbol said H. History Channel. This is the channel that comes with the worst documentaries ever. Much to my surprise, this was excellent.

Straight forward witness interviews, straight forward timelines and no attempt whatsoever to change facts. Excellent job in connecting dots. Just informative and factual.

For those who have followed 9/11 and are aware of the history from Oklahoma, Blind Sheikh and Ramzi, there isn't much surprise but surely the interviews give the documentary character.

I think I am getting a whiff of bias toward Bill Clinton (Dems), as at some points the narrator blames lack of media attention due to scandals in the white house (and later on Shark attacks). I think this is highly unreasonable as the interviewees contradict this statement by simply admitting that their cries have been ignored by Washington suits, and that there were a dozen chances to eliminate Osama before 9/11. But, was he really the mastermind?

best documentary on 911 because it gives you in-depth background

If you know only about the terror attacks of September 11, 2001 based on the minute-by-minute accounts of the day, or even the days before, or even the weeks before, you miss most of the story. Those terrorist attacks were decades in the making, and understanding the people and events that lead to the horrors of that day is essential to understanding the mindset of this specific terrorism - so that we can prevent it in the future. This documentary starts with the assassination of New York Rabbi Meir Kahane and eventually goes back even further, to the 1981 assassination of President Anwar Sadat of Egypt. It weaves those events together over the years, along with many others, so you can clearly see just how the movements grew into one that lead to the murder of Ahmad Shah Massoud in Afghanistan on September 9, 2011, and the terror attacks in the USA two days later. Detailed, fact-based, meticulous - outstanding documentary.
