Three children ride fast their bikes along a dirt road in the park of a big city. Suddenly they stop just around a bend. A look of surprise and fear deforms their young faces. There is a small creature in agony at the foot of a huge tree in front of them. We witness the naive attempts of the kids to define the nature of that living undefined being, that we can't see. There is no other explanation: it is an alien.
The kids stretch their hands, contending the grip on its slimy antenna, till they tear it off. It's getting late. What now? Save the alien or leave it there? Despite the fear of the other two children, the smallest of them wraps the mysterious creature in his sweatshirt, beating the retreat.
Quickly the children reach the exit of the park, where Lorenzo's mother is waiting for them. They run towards the woman, eager to show her the rescued alien, but the discovery turns out to be dreadful for her. However, she hardly tries to contain the shock and to satisfy the imagination of the three little heroes. She picks up the phone and calls for help, while the kids wonder how she manages to get in touch with so far aliens.
The close encounter finally reveals the identity of the unknown creature: it is a newborn baby, dirty and all cover in blood.
As the children keep on looking at the sky waiting for the alien rescue, we hear the feeble cry of the tiny lucky human. The sky above the city now is dark, but in that warm sunset a spaceship breaks the frame from side to side, with his huge light beam.
