A brilliant game

This game, Night in The Woods, appears to have every quality and aspect sorted. The animations look spectacular, the story is very intriguing, and the characters pull me in further and further. This game has a great art style and a very good soundtrack. I rate this 8/10 because I think the story is too short and there is not a lot of reason to play the game again. Nonetheless I still enjoyed it. It makes me sad to think that my journey with Mae, Bea, Gregg and Angus is now over. A lovely, inspiring short adventure, like What Remains Of Edith Finch. Thank you for reading.

Story over gameplay and it works
jamesurech19 January 2022
The beginning was very slow, but the characters and their interactions were compelling enough to keep me interested enough in continuing. The bass playing was fun, but it was less important than I thought it would be. I really like how there's a lot of different storylines going on, and you get to choose to focus on the ones you care about. The gameplay was never very compelling, which is one issue I have with the game, but it makes up for it with how well the story builds up near the end. American East Coast Late Teenage Drama

Despite its lovely art style it can bring you to depressing levels you never knew such game could do. Playing the game through the eyes of a college dropout is hard as a lot of times the game imitates the real life social embarrassment.

That until it suddenly turns into a different game. It takes a deep turn to the cult mystery genre. It has some really haunting scenes especially with the perfectly placed soundtrack. Such a shame the last section of the story is so rushed and the ending isn't as satisfying as the beginning of the game.

An Underrated Masterpiece

I took a big chance buying this game. I didn't like the anthropomorphic art style, and it turned me away from the game multiple times. But then I gave it a chance. The narrative is amazing, the characters are great, the music is masterful. If you like story-based games like What Remains of Edith Finch or Oxenfree, absolutely try this one out.

One of Indie Gaming's Most Strongest
TheMysteriousReviewer7 October 2022
Before this existed, this has known to have a couple of kickstarter games in order to keep indie gaming independent. And after playing this game, I can tell there's so much effort that was put to. Night In The Woods is one of gaming's most independent indie platform. This has went a long way from all that started with a couple of games for kickstarter to a few more years later into creating this. It would be all worth the effort with an engaging and intense story featuring a couple of different plot routes, lovable characters that serve a lot of purpose to this, gameplay that would allow a player to take time on visiting places and still focus on the main story, and creative indie graphics that presents the setting we would go to. But if there is one thing that really makes this game something incredible is its social commentary on social issues like the economy and religion. I won't spoil anything, but even on the final act where it would present climate change beliefs that could affect the world. If you are a fan of indie gaming and you think they deserve more attention, then please go play this game. However, I wouldn't judge how the game looks and I would recommend playing mostly for teens and young adults because of a dark tone. Not only is this one of the best indie games I've played, but possibly the most strongest that has been created. I can totally relate to Mae, because I will go and have hope until the end.

Favorite game of all time

I am completely in love with this game, the characters all have unique, lovable, and relatable personalities that make them feel like real people (ironic if you've finished the game).

The art style is beautiful, and dynamic and matches amazingly with the tones and atmosphere of each scene.

I have very little complaints with the game, the only notable one being the pacing towards the end, it feels pretty rushed but not enough to really take away from the games experience.

Apart from the end, the pacing is otherwise very good and feels realistic, if something boring is happening its slow, if something awesome is happening its fast.

I highly recommend this game to anyone looking for something relatable yet awesome, it's worth every penny.

Little slow at begining
meamitkverma20 June 2021
Game was little slow and boring but soon the game keeps getting interested and intense as the story progresses.

Sounds and music of this game are great and enjoyable.

It would have been good if the conversation between two characters has voice-over instead just of reading the long conversation which was boring.
