Spoilers

The Parents Guide items below may give away important plot points.

Sex & Nudity

  • This is more gender neutral than other versions. Escalus is female. Mercutio is played by a woman, and is described as a woman. (The actress has since identified themselves as Gender Neutral). At the end, it is Lord Montague, not Lady Montague, that dies in the night.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • As generally known, the end scenes where they both kill themselves can be uncomfortable.
