Though Mr Eazi has released five bodies of work and several smash Afrobeats singles over the past 10 years, he’s crowning The Evil Genius, out Oct. 27, his debut album. “I don’t like to use the word album loosely,” he says, and he’s pulled out all the stops for this one, including commissioning 16 pieces of physical, visual art, one for each of the tracks. In late 2020 Accra, Ghana, where Eazi, a Nigerian, has made a home since he was 15, he started to become enthralled with the fine arts after visiting a friend’s museum.

From grand strategy to mythical adventures, here are the PC games you need to play in 2020.
The PC has been a staple of the video game industry for decades. Consoles come and go, talk of new generations pop-up every handful of years, and companies continue to try to get in on the nostalgic classic console scene, but the one constant that remains is that you’ll never be able to experience the best gaming has to offer unless you have a PC.
That isn’t going to change in 2020. As we prepare to say goodbye to one generation of consoles and hello to two new console releases, the PC remains a source for some of the most innovative and essential gaming experiences.
So far, the PC games of 2020 include trips through the woods, cyberpunk free-running, and supervillain simulators. If you can’t find a PC game releasing...

The first names that come to mind for producing a hip-hop dance series aren’t Mark and Jay Duplass. Nevertheless, the ubiquitous siblings will produce one and simultaneously extend their dominion to Disney Channel. Actors, directors, producers, and writers commonly known as the Duplass Brothers will executive produce the short-form series “Shook” for Disney Channel’s YouTube, it was announced Wednesday. The modern hip-hop dance series will be made available on Saturday, Sept. 28.
“Shook” stars Sofia Wylie — lately of “Andi Mack” and star of the upcoming “High School Musical: The Musical: The Series” for Disney+ — as 15-year-old Mia, who wants to take up dancing professionally. But her first duty is to her family — her younger sister Skylar and her busy single mom who’s a registered nurse — which doesn’t leave a lot of time to pursue her dream. Through her outgoing best friend Fredgy and mentor Ritz, Mia begins...

Evil Genius 2 has been revealed, and we can't wait to start building our own evil lair.
The PC gaming show at E3 2019 started off with a rather welcome surprise as we got the world reveal trailer for Evil Genius 2.
The original Evil Genius was developed by the now-defunct Elixir Studios and released in 2004. Actually it was the second and last game that the studio released prior to shutting down in 2005. The game itself cast you in the role of a James Bond-esque supervillain (or, more accurately, Austin Powers), who must build his villainous lair and eventually take over the world. The series was compared to the classic Dungeon Master games but benefited greatly from its '60s spy aesthetics.
Those aesthetics certainly appear to have made a return in this sequel. The game's first trailer has been compared to the classic Team Fortress 2 trailers with its...

Gucci Mane unites with Justin Bieber on his breezy new single “Love Thru the Computer,” an ode to romance in the digital age.
Throughout the song, the rapper and singer trade lines over fizzy beats and a pitched-up sample of electro-funk act Zapp & Roger’s 1985 track “Computer Love.” (Numerous artists have sampled that track over the years, including Tupac Shakur.)
Early on between punchlines, the emcee shouts out the source material, noting, “You want a long-distance love; I want computer love.” Bieber appears on the song’s auto-tuned chorus, singing...

Well, here's a fun read for ya: stars are literally naming their vaginas after the last TV show they watched. Yes, this has become an actual thing after comedian Whitney Cummings posted a photo on Instagram that read, "Your vagina is now named after the title of the last TV show you watched . . . What is it?" Whitney kicked off the game by revealing hers is The Good Place. Since she shared the post, quite a few celebrities have joined in on the fun, commenting with their vagina's new moniker. Lucky for us, the account Comments by Celebs compiled some of the best answers.
Naturally, many of the responses are absolutely hilarious. Some are a bit sinister, including Gwyneth Paltrow's - who had watched Forensic Files - and Courteney Cox's - who watched Netflix's Evil Genius. Others are purely comical, such as Kaley Cuoco naming her vagina The Big Bang Theory...

Last Year’s Winner: “Wild Wild Country”
Still Eligible: No.
Hot Streak: Since Netflix earned its first nomination (and win) in the category, only Netflix original series — or series that have benefitted from streaming on its platform — have won the category. “Making a Murderer” broke through for the digital giant in 2016, earning the initial nod and win, while “Wild Wild Country” took home the title again in 2018. In between, “Planet Earth II” won for BBC America (while “Chef’s Table” and “The Keepers” were nominated as Netflix originals). The initial “Planet Earth” and its sequel both stream on Netflix (and have for some time).
Fun Fact: In the 21 years this category has been active (it was called Outstanding Nonfiction Series before this and Outstanding Informational Series before that), PBS has won in 14 of those years and has 15 trophies, thanks to two of its programs tying in 1999. There has never been...

Ringu is a terrifying J-Horror classic and it achieved this by subverting an unwritten rule...
This article comes from Den of Geek UK.
In the early 2000s, a new movement in horror hit Western audiences. It came from Japan, was known as "J-Horror" and it was scary as all hell. Though not the first of the new wave, Ringu was definitely the breakout hit of the subgenre and the one that landed big, introducing us to the long haired creepy girl-ghost trope that would quickly become ubiquitous. It certainly wasn’t the first use of this kind of ghostly character in Japanese cinema, but for many viewers, the sodden, jerky, strange Sadako with her giant eye and torn up fingernails was a revelation.
More than 20 years later (the film had an anniversary release this month - though the actual 20th was last year), Ringu still wields immense...

Netflix's new true crime documentary, Abducted in Plain Sight, is almost too weird to be believed.
This article comes from Den of Geek UK.
Netflix has been churning out some exceptional docs recently and true crime has never been hotter (bolstered in part by the massive response to Netflix’s series Making a Murderer), so when the latest to land on the streaming service prompted shock from viewers, with critics calling it the darkest true crime show yet, it seemed sensible to approach Abducted in Plain Sight with care.
Packed with increasingly strange spiralling twists, with a highly manipulative paedophile at the centre of a story that’s almost too weird to be believed, Abducted in Plain Sight is certainly full of surprises. The darkest yet? Not for our money though this is certainly a crazy-compelling story, that for once does have a bit of redemption at the end.

Netflix is bringing back the true crime/paranormal series “Unsolved Mysteries.”
The revival is being led by the show’s original creators, alongside “Stranger Things” executive producer Shawn Levy. Terry Dunn Meurer is showrunning this new version that she co-created with John Cosgrove, who will executive produce. Levy and Josh Barry are executive producing for 21 Laps. Robert Wise will also serve as co-executive producer and showrunner.
Per Netflix, this modern take on the classic series will maintain the chilling feeling viewers loved about the original, while also telling the stories through the lens of a premium Netflix documentary series. Each episode will focus on one mystery and once again will look to viewers to help aid investigators in closing the book on long outstanding cases. It will run for 12 episodes.

Netflix has ordered “Conversations With a Killer: The Ted Bundy Tapes,” a true-crime docuseries about serial killer Ted Bundy.
The docuseries will be directed by Joe Berlinger, who is helming a separate scripted film about the serial killer, “Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile,” which stars Zac Efron as Bundy, and will premiere at Sundance.
The four-part series will feature previously unheard audio of interviews with Bundy while he was on death row in Florida. This unique and gripping doc series focuses on the man whose personality, good looks and social graces defied the serial-killer stereotype, allowing him to hide in plain sight as he committed the brutal sex-crime slayings of more than 30 women before being caught in 1978. While on trial, Bundy received extraordinary adoration from American women, which made his gruesome crimes doubly haunting, even in an era of anything-goes mayhem.
It will premiere on Jan 24, 2019, 30 years after the date of his execution in Florida.

Gucci Mane and Kevin Gates performed their boastful single “I’m Not Goin'” on Tuesday’s Jimmy Kimmel Live. The rappers exchanged verses on an unadorned stage, pacing back and forth as they fired off lines about wealth, status and fighting off their naysayers.
“They told me, ‘Stop buying all these fancy cars’/ They told me, ‘Please take all your diamonds off,” Gucci rapped on the chorus, utilizing a high register that blended with the booming backing track. “I’m getting too rich to fly commercial flights/ They wanna lock me up like Suge Knight.

Netflix has had some of its biggest surprise phenomena in the world of true crime documentaries. Now, with a new venture with legendary author John Grisham, they don’t appear to be letting up any time soon.
After a 2018 that saw Netflix release series like “Evil Genius” and the conclusion of the years-long saga of “The Staircase,” “The Innocent Man” examines the case that Grisham profiled in his 2006 nonfiction book of the same name. Both are a look at a pair of killings in the mid 1980s, both occurring in the town of Ada, Oklahoma.
Much like another Netflix crime series you may have heard of, “The Innocent Man” takes a closer view of the aftermath of the crimes, looking at how law enforcement officials arrived at their conclusions and arresting the young men they believed to be guilty of the abductions and killings. As a result, “The Innocent Man...

Gucci Mane and Kevin Gates mix grit and glamour in the video for “I’m Not Goin.'” The track will appear on Gucci’s forthcoming album, Evil Genius, out December 7th. The video finds Gucci Mane and Gates performing the menacing cut in a decrepit throne room, though the dinginess is offset with pyrotechnics, jewelry, champagne and beautiful women. “I’m Not Goin'” finds Gucci Mane peeling off clever bars like, “Gucci’s anti-social, bipolar, he’s un-relatable / Heard he wrote a novel/ Got labels, but you can’t label him.

Known for their contributions shepherding a new generation of behind-the-scenes talent into the mainstream, it seems only appropriate that Mark and Jay Duplass received their first Emmy nominations for doing just that with Chapman and Maclain Way’s acclaimed Netflix docuseries Wild Wild Country, depicting the rise of a cult leader in the Oregon desert.

The Duplass brothers, boasting overall deals with Netflix and HBO and with hands in “a lot of different spheres,” have found a key element of their artistic mission by expanding their collaborations beyond those films and television series they write and direct together.

Last Year’s Winner: “Planet Earth II”
Still Eligible: No.
Hot Streak: A network hasn’t won this category in back-to-back years since PBS in 2013 and 2014, which was also the last time the same show won twice in a row — “American Masters.”
Fun Fact:
“American Masters” has 17 nominations and 10 wins in this category, which is far and away the most of either accolade. But a new trend in docuseries, as well as new mediums supporting the genre, are clashing with PBS’s established favorite. HBO’s “The Jinx” and Netflix’s “Making a Murderer” solidified the interest in and respect for true crime docuseries, and while last year saw “Planet Earth II” take the Emmy, the genre’s success has lead to more competition overall.
“Evil Genius” is a Netflix true crime docuseries that hasn’t made “Making a Murderer”-level waves, but could still benefit from having extra eyes on it.

The Staircase, one of Netflix's most anticipated new Summer shows, has finally arrived on the streaming platform, and with it comes a whole lot of mystery. The docuseries hails from Academy Award-winning filmmaker Jean-Xavier de Lestrade and follows the trial and conviction of crime novelist Michael Peterson after he's accused of murdering his wife, Kathleen Peterson, by beating her and throwing her down the stairs of their Durham, Nc, home in 2001. Although there are plenty of interesting themes at play in The Staircase - sexuality, class issues, the unbreakable bonds of family - much of the series revolves around one key question: did Michael Peterson kill his wife or not?
Unfortunately, as mentioned repeatedly by lawyers and law enforcement officers throughout all 13 episodes, the only people who know the real answer to that question are Michael and Kathleen. By the time the credits roll in the final episode, "Imperfect Justice,...

When it comes to digging up a captivating whodunit story, Netflix is the place to be. The popular streaming service has released a slew of hauntingly addictive true crime serials like Making a Murderer, The Keepers, and Evil Genius. In The Staircase, it breathes life into an infamous old case, updating a critically acclaimed French docuseries that was originally released in 2004.
The Case
The Staircase follows the trial and conviction of crime author Michael Peterson, who was accused of murdering his wife Kathleen in 2001. Peterson had called authorities and said that his wife had fallen down a flight of stairs. But forensic scientists suggested that Kathleen's head wounds indicated blunt force trauma. News broke on June 12 that celebrity chef Anthony Bourdain tragically took his own life in Paris, but Netflix quickly jumped in to make sure his legacy lives on. Anthony was the star of the CNN series, Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown, that premiered on the streaming service in 2013, and explored different parts of the world using the local cuisine as a focal point. However, back in May, Netflix announced which movies and shows were going to end in June, and Parts Unknown had made the list — it was scheduled leave on June 16. But, after Anthony's death, fans became incredibly interested in not only his life, but also the shows he created. A petition was started on Change.org to keep Parts Unknown on Netflix, and it garnered almost 7,000 signatures. While Netflix’s “Evil Genius” ends with unanswered questions, directors Barbara Schroeder and Trey Borzillieri have clear thoughts on who they think was behind the big heist, and who wasn’t.
“Evil Genius” tells the story of the “pizza bomber heist” and the murder of Brian Wells in 2003. The 46-year-old from Erie, Pennsylvania, was a pizza delivery man who got involved in a bank robbery that included a scavenger hunt and a homemade bomb strapped around his neck. In the 15 years since the incident happened, there was been debate over Wells’ involvement and who the real mastermind was — or who the masterminds were — in the crime. Prosecutors claimed Wells was in on the heist but thought the bomb was a decoy.
