Every time someone steps up and says who they are, the world becomes a better, more interesting place."

This Holt's quote says everything. Maybe some people do not want this show to be so "serious" or "real" but I think its very nice. And whats wrong with being a bisexual? It's who they are. It was really heartwarming where the squad gathered and showed support for Diaz in the last scene. 99 rules!

This is a great exemple of why this show is great

Warning: Spoilers
Throughout the episode we switch back and forth between the A story that is heavy and interesting and the B story that is light and fun, and the two component each other beautifully. We can see the show making Rosa more interesting by revealing the family she has, her relationship with them and how that relationship changes. It's like the characters are real people and you can see their fear and struggle. The show also makes a statement but is not imposing their views either, it's more like a reflection of the world that we live in.

A great episode with a bit too little buildup

Warning: Spoilers
This episode of Brooklyn Nine Nine was great, in it Rosa Diaz comes out as bisexual to her parents and to the 99-Precinct. Her friends are incredibly supportive, and jake helps her break the news to her parents. The fact that she is bi is not hinted at throughout the series, but one could consider a number of reasons for this. 1. The writers thought it might make for an interesting episode, and it did. 2. She is a private person and did not want it public 3. The writers wanted to be PC and LGBT and SJW and whatever else other people reviewing this episode think. I believe its a combination of 1 and 2. Its a great episode and her character developement is well handled. In this episode. But it needed more buildup.

Jake as her supportive friend amazed me, there were no jokes about her being bi, or any hazing. It was just, "My friend is bi, imma help that girlio" and i loved that! A great episode in my opinion. Definitly worth giving a watch.

Realistic, relatable and respectful.

Warning: Spoilers
Some people say that this "came out of nowhere" because it was never hinted that Rosa could be anything other than a straight woman, but as a member of the LGBT+ community myself, I found all of this storyline realistic and relatable. Rosa Diaz loves and respects her privacy more than anything, she barely speaks about her love life at all (the only two known partners she ever had were people that the squad knew, and that's why people knew about their relationship). She wouldn't be flirting with every girl or waving the bi flag, it was clearly something she was afraid of showing because even if it is something normal and there's nothing wrong with it, you can't help feeling a little nervous. The conversations with her family were really spot on, my latino parents have told me almost the exact same things. And at the end when Holt talks to her, i cried. I really loved this episode.

Great episode
simoneevans-3916327 May 2018
This episode has an important meaning, acceptance. Although it was a more serious episode it was a important episode to understand the difficulties between a gay/bisexual child and telling the parents, as well as what the child wants. And judging by other reviews about the episode it is a needed episode.

That the highest mark I'm giving on Brooklyn 9-9 episode ever. It was very realistic, relatable and lovely as it could be. I loved plot, I liked it how they painted it with humour but so serious. Perfect episode.

Exploring Big Relevance In Real Life
kendraj-peterson23 February 2022
Warning: Spoilers
This was a great episode. Not only does it take a main character and put her in a situation where she can truly be herself, but it presses on the issues of coming out as a bisexual woman to parents who do not understand and/or accept this about their daughter. While also bring Gina back for this episode for the first time after her maternity leave, this episode highlights how much the 99 is a family and supports their coworkers wholeheartedly no matter their beliefs, ethnicity, and preference. What a great episode to explore diversity and how acceptance can be something that everyone has or is something that can take time for some to accept. Always love seeing Danny Trejo as a guest star and it was a fantastic way to show an impact of one parent being more accepting of a LGBTQ child, while another is having issues with the realization of it. The support the 99 has for each other in this episode is great and I really enjoyed the whole episode.

Game Night

Warning: Spoilers
Ugh, I was enjoying the Gina-free show this season, and then we got teased by her possibly leaving, but that ride is over now.

I wish we got an actual police case this week, even though Paul Scheer proved to be an entertaining guest star.

We knew that Danny Trejo's traditional father character would eventually come around, but it was still nice to see him play a different role than he usually does.

An okay episode, but nothing really memorable.

Better than I thought

Character development of Rosa; So this episode is about Rosa telling her parents she's bi. When I heard about this episode, I thought they would make it very political but to my surprise, they didn't. I'm glad they didn't because I'm over politics being in just about every show.

However the episode isn't 100% about Rosa but she is a major focus of the episode.

Tonight, on another very special Blossom
shanayneigh23 June 2019
"Game Night" reminds me of "Moo Moo" from season 4 episode 16. Brooklyn 99 is not good at tackling real life issues. Everything is done so clunky and heavy handedly with all the subtlety of a sledgehammer to the face, and it doesn't help that Samberg is his usual grinning buffoon. The end result is neither funny nor insightful.

Pretty good

They handled the issue way better and way more realistically than in "Moo Moo". But the plot itself wasn't very interesting.
