The main setting in the film, Dunwich, is named after the fictional town that appeared in the H. P. Lovecraft short story "The Dunwich Horror" (1929) and the subsequent film adaptations.
The surname Tramer is a reference to the character Ben Tramer who is mentioned in John Carpenter's 'Halloween' (1978) and then subsequently killed in Halloween II (1981).
Clips of several public domain horror films appear in the film, both as part of the opening credits and appearing on the TV during key scenes. The films include 'Nosferatu' (1922), 'The Cabinet of Dr Caligari' (1920), 'White Zombie' (1932), 'Carnival of Souls' (1962) and 'Night of the Living Dead' (1968).
Filmed on location in the Parkmill, Penclawdd and Pontlliw areas of Swansea, South Wales, as well as Cardiff and Llanelli.
In the UK the film opened at #21 in the national UK DVD charts, the second highest selling Direct-to-DVD title of that week.
