Ghent, 2018. Twelve citizens with different backgrounds are plucked from their daily lives. They come together to make up the jury for the "Millennium Trial", a controversial assize case.
In court, the retired cop Donald Vantomme is questioned. He conducted the Brechtje Vindevogel murder investigation between 2000 and 2016, but was taken off the case because he was getting nowhere.
FJP Commissioner Eliane Pascual methodically explains to the court how the police has been able to catch Fri Palmers for both crimes after eighteen years.
Stefaan is becoming a main witness in the trial. His ex-girlfriend Brechtje disappeared in 2000 and was found dead. His daughter Roos died fourteen years later after Stefaan.
It is now the turn of the expert witnesses. The coroner and the legal psychiatrist are testifying today. Commissioner Eliane Pascual presents the reconstruction of the two murders.
Marc Vindevogel and his lawyer have important news for the defence lawyer. They have proof that Stefaan has committed perjury during his testimony and believe that he is behind the murders.
Today, the jury must debate the guilt of Frie Palmers. But first Noël confesses he leaked information to the press, which means he must be replaced in the jury by Delphine when they start deliberating.
