- Kelly Severide: [to Stella] What happened, you get sick of hitting the town with a different date every night?
- Stella Kidd: Look, I don't want to shock you, but, uh, the pool of guys in Chicago who can keep up with this is limited.
- Brian Zvonecek: [to Sylvie] Go on, spill it you're seeing someone.
- Sylvie Brett: Um, I don't need my roommates broadcasting what I do off shift to the entire firehouse.
- Brian Zvonecek: That's the whole point of being roommates.
- Sylvie Brett: [to Gabriela] You don't think I can sleep with Antonio without getting hurt again.
- [pause]
- Sylvie Brett: The thing is, I'm not the same person that I was when we were dating before. I don't know how to explain it.
- Gabriela Dawson: Less Fowlerton, more Chicago?
- Matthew Casey: Chief. I've been thinking.
- Wallace Boden: Come on in.
- Matthew Casey: As soon as you get out of touch with someone, you feel like you've distanced yourself from their concern, their problems... What were inches between, you can grow into miles. I've been doing a little bit too much of that lately: distancing myself. So, I don't want this to come out the wrong way, and I really appreciate the offer, but I think I'm gonna stay in my old quarters so I can be close to my men.
- Wallace Boden: Okay then. I'll admit I'm a little jealous. When I made Battalion Chief, I was very happy to get to this end of the firehouse: no more snoring men, no more coughs and sneezes at 4:00 in the A.M. just as I finally got my eyes closed. It was a place to come, shut my door, and not be bothered. But it turns out... sometimes I miss being bothered. Sometimes I miss those sneezes and snores.
- Matthew Casey: Well. I can send Mouch down here tonight if you want, Chief.
- Wallace Boden: You do that, and I will take those bugles from your collar my damn self.
- Brian Zvonecek: So, I've stopped asking Brett who this mystery guy is.
- Joe Cruz: Decided to respect her privacy?
- Brian Zvonecek: No, no. Let's just say I'm making a deception check. It's a basic D&D move: I make a charisma roll against Brett's wisdom and, if I roll high enough, then she buys into my ploy and reveals who she's canoodling with.
- Joe Cruz: Don't tell Lily you play that game.
- Joe Cruz: Hey, Otis. Did you know that a big percentage of burn victims return to the habits that cause burns in the first place? Yeah, like leaving space heaters on, or candles on Christmas trees. You'd think they would learn, you know? Get burned once, maybe...
- Sylvie Brett: Okay, who told? Dawson, Stella?
- Joe Cruz: Stella knew?
- Brian Zvonecek: We found Antonio's shirt in the dryer.
- Joe Cruz: We're roommates. You're supposed to tell us when a big change happens in your life.
- Sylvie Brett: I thought you said the point of being roommates was so that you could broadcast my business to the entire firehouse.
- Joe Cruz: Otis said that.
- [Severide is adjusting Squad's table legs]
- Stella Kidd: What're you doing?
- Kelly Severide: Tired of the wobble.
- Stella Kidd: Well, jam paper under the legs.
- Kelly Severide: I'm not taking advice from the woman that duct tapes her mirror to the wall.
- Stella Kidd: How does such a smart guy miss the most obvious solutions?
- Kelly Severide: Paper was the first thing I tried.
