Huge fun.

This is the most enjoyable episode I've seen thus far (watching them in order,) it was funny, clever, and had a lovely moving moment.

The mystery itself is the best yet, how can someone with an alibi commit murder and get away with it? The solution kind of becomes clear at the half way stage, but it's still a very clever twist, I didn't see that murder coming.

Joyner and Benton continue to impress as the Detective duo, I loved the presence of Martin Mariner, that provided a really different strand, lots of fun, and gave us the touching scene at the end. I laughed at the scene where Frank confronts the TAXI driver, that was so funny.

Once again Patrick Walshe McBride stole the show, Sebastian is the surprise package of this show, what a thoroughly impressive and versatile actor he is! To go from the demure character in drag, to the Brummy gas man was pure brilliance, he is one true talent.

Best yet, enjoyed every minute. 9/10

Mac McDonald guest stars

Warning: Spoilers
Shakespeare and Hathaway is lots of fun, and the burly Mac McDonald appears claiming to be a relative of Frank, culminating in an emotional ending. Amber Aga as DI Marlowe appears but it's a shame there was a conspiracy of silence about her Amber not returning for season 3. Why?

I thought Mac was British with an American accent, but Mac is really an American.

The Fairest Show Means Most Deceit

An enjoyable episode with several story strands, the main murder story was intriguing.

Frank meets an American who claims to be his uncle. Together Frank tries to trace his grandmother but unearths another long buried secret.

Frank and Luella are also engaged by shopkeepers, Diana and Leon to follow an employee for making a false compensation claim for a work injury. Diana is later found dead and Frank is asked by the police to help out.

The actor playing Sebastian certainly is a bit of a scene stealer. I heard him being described as a young Kenneth Williams, here he tries out a disguise as a meter reader and earlier in the episode dressed up in drag.
