A profoundly interesting episode that gave Stewie Griffin a depth in development that we have only been able to catch glimpses of when he pairs with the uninteresting Brian. Beyond the confessions he makes, the need for jokes in such a sitcom, and the contribution of the ever astounding Sir Ian McKellen, this episode demonstrated how interesting Stewie was in terms of his own personal demons, his intellectual and devastatingly callous personal and interpersonal style. It provided viewers with an opportunity to understand why Stewie is such an interesting character that, in no doubt, never tires or bores the audience, such as Peter with his continuous idiotic behavior or Chris with his... whatever that is.
