Sex & Nudity

  • The main characters butt is shown through out the game.
  • One scene of male buttocks in a hot spring
  • The male main character's butt is shown in a nonsexual context throughout the game when a player chooses to enter a hot spring. There is no sexual nudity in the game.

Violence & Gore

  • The violence in the game includes violent swordplay. Sword strikes result in blood and infrequent dismemberment. Violence however is highly stylized and intended to contrast with the serenity of the environment.
  • While gore and blood can be turned off in settings, they are both unavoidable because cutscenes are not altered. Cutscenes never contain onscreen dismemberment however(likely intentional)
  • The gore and violence become more frequent and severe as Jin Sakai grows in skill.
  • Later in the game a poison is frequently used which causes enemies to vomit blood and scream in pain while doing so, pretty disturbing and graphic.

Profanity

  • infrequent mild language such as b*stard, damn, hell, and sh*t is used, but infrequently

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Sake (pronounced sah-Kay), a Japanese rice wine, is mentioned throughout the whole game.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • strong graphic violence and execution of civilians and soldiers alike could be frightening
  • As the game progresses it becomes darker, sadder and more violent.

  • A key character is violently beheaded in front of the protagonist, their head is then ripped off their body and shown to the main character. Disturbing.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Two of the main characters get drunk during one of the main quests.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • A character very close to the protagonist, and a character who is very innocent and likeable, is decapitated violently in front of the protagonist. Extremely disturbing to watch.
  • The death of Jin's horse is emotional, especially for animal lovers.
  • The Khan is ruthless and forces various characters to do horrible things against their will, such as, he forces one character to burn innocent people alive at the stake in order to get a castle to open their gates so the Khan may conquer it.
