Part Six better be big!!
Sleepin_Dragon27 October 2018
I'm not sure if other viewers are in the same boat as me, but after this part I'm now confused and shocked. I'm shocked, because what happened in Part 4, actually happened, and wasn't a conspiracy, I'm confused, because every theory I had previously has fallen apart. I'm sure one person is responsible at the top for the recent goings on, and I can't wait to find out who.

It's fantastically well made, and well produced, it truly is lavish, political drama, a genre I've yearned for, for years, it's just gone in directions I wasn't expecting it to, with Jed Mercurio at the helm should I have expected anything else.

The acting remains on point, Richard Madden has done an incredible job, everyone else contributes just as well, I'm particularly enjoying Nina Toussaint-White's performance as Louise Rayburn, she's terrific.

I think you need to watch this while you're stone cold sober, or you'll lose the thread of it. I'm still loving it. 8/10

Get Some Help......Right
Hitchcoc14 December 2023
As David wends his way through the layers of bureaucracy and more and more fingers point at conspiracy, he is cut off at each point by well meaning superiors. Of course, had he kept his pants on, his efforts wouldn't need to be quite as dramatic. He has uncovered more and more, but his effort at suicide (the other obstacle) has put him in the category of the mentally ill (PTSD) realm and not worth listening to. They have left him no option but to take matters into his own hands and his impulsiveness is about to be tested. He makes a discovery at the end and hopefully that will take him into the depths of the truth and to a place where he will be listened to.

Episode 1.5

Warning: Spoilers
By this time a lot of people in the audience will have various theories as to what is happening.

Is there a conspiracy in the heart of Whitehall leading to the Prime Minister? The shadowy Longcross who disappears from CCTV footage. Is the security services involved because they could not trust the Home Secretary. Even the police might not be out of the loop, after all they detested the Home Secretary for trying to take powers from them.

This penultimate episode shoots down some theories and introduces new ones. Politicians do not murder rivals, they just wanted to Julia Montague by ensuring her speech was riddled with errors. The bomb in the auditorium did not emanate from Tahir's briefcase.

David Budd decides to take it upon himself to investigate further while people all round him are concerned of his psychological well being especially as he repeatedly turns down offers of counselling.

Budd does find that organised crime might have been involved in Julia's death, they too would be caught out in her new legislation.

No big set pieces in this episode. It is setting the pieces for the finale. However I wonder if Budd himself is being set up to take fall. He could be the perfect patsy.
