Julia keeps from David the fact that his children's school may be a terrorist target; but, when police intercept an attack on it, he is seen as a security risk by association. Julia supports him, seemingly helping his family, and David saves her when shots are fired at them by a face from his past, leading her to express her gratitude rather too overly. She believes police chief Anne Sampson deliberately held her officers back from coming to their aid, but Anne and some of Julia's political rivals claim that she is self-seeking and dangerous, and ask David to spy on her.
