the dialogues
In few scenes, the dialogue between Vronski and Seriozha Karenin becomes unrealistic. But you feel than the purpoise is exactly a dialogue of director with the viewer , for who, the novel is more than familiar. In this sense, scenes are parts of sketches- the young Seriozha hearing the words of parents, the joke about adultery of a comrade of Vronski, the first visit of Anna to Vronski or the first morning after, reminding, suggesting, giving clues, challenging. All, more than inspired.
But the details are definitory.
The Chinese girl and the roommate of Vronski and his form of madness.
Especially, the powerful discussion abou war of the end of episode.
A serie about Russia, maybe in Tostoy - like perspective, than good adaptation of a masterpiece, this seems be the great virtue of series.
