Come on Erin, A LITTLE PUSHBACK PLEASE! I completely empathize with losing a child and the tragedy of it all- however, lying all blame, heaping piles of association, casting ridiculous amounts of blame on anyone other than Conrad is insane. Maybe had they paid more attention to their son BEFORE he took his own life, maybe took a look at his phone once in a while, knew anything about him other than rudimentary things everyone knew.
This kid tried to kill himself other times. He was hospitalized. His mother worked in a psychiatric hospital. His mother spent the day with him. His mother didn't even know he was friends with Michelle. Michelle was 35 miles away. What's ironic is, all these texts and phone calls and none are from his mom or dad.
Conrad's death was self-inflicted. She sent texts and called him. Anyone who falls prey to the texts and/or phone calls was already bent on committing suicide. It feels like mom feels so guilty that she's lashing out and redirecting focus on others, including Michelle.
Mom working in a psychiatric hospital knows very well that someone that's going to commit suicide will dutifully hide any evidence of sadness, depression and intention. Mom made zero attempts to read his texts, get him help, get his mind right, but was a-okay with blaming an18 year-old girl for her own failures. The family acting like Michelle pulled a trigger and murdered him is insanely irresponsible and ridiculous.
Lyn Roy's focus should be solely on her own responsibilities in he sons SUICIDE and let go of the petty accusations directed at the wrong person. Grow up, be an adult, and realize you failed your son and he failed himself. Putting that girl in prison changes nothing, and pretending she's guilty of manslaughter is reprehensible.
I'm more than a little disappointed by 48 Hours for going the shock route, giving absolutely no arguments to the claims, and shining this as her fault- if Michelle were black, would they have tried to paint her as an innocent? What if she checked a different virtue signal box like lesbian? But she's a white girl with nothing else going for her, including what seemed like an incompetent attorney, so she gets to rot in a prison for sending a text. This is insane and the manner in which it's portrayed is gross.
No wonder no one trusts the media anymore.
