Gowen's trial has begun and he has only one person he can depend on helping him - Abigail. Abigail & Bill are key witnesses in Gowen's trial by the toughest of judges. Meanwhile, back in Hope Valley, Julie, Elizabeth's sister, shows up unannounced proclaiming she has a new purpose in life & that is to teach. Julie wants to shadow Elizabeth. Also, people in Hope Valley are getting sick with upset stomachs & Carson plays detective to determine what is causing the ailment leading him to trouble with a traveling tonic salesman & a run in with the substitute sheriff, Lee.
