Excellent directorial debut by Anna Kendrick
shaha-18 September 2023
I thought the acting and directing were excellent. Really impressed with Anna Kendrick. The movie was very good. I wish it was a little longer and had a few more twists. A few scenes were really amazing including the part where they show the dating game and the part afterwards. Saw the movies today at the TIFF and seemed as though that everyone really enjoyed it despite the serious subject matter. It would have been so great of there was no strike and the actors could have taken part today. One of the producers was there and read a note from Anna which was well received. I would recommend seeing this film.

Visceral Yet Story Driven
reelkena9 September 2023
Woman of the Hour is a film that men should see accompanied by a woman. The reactions and truth of them from women during this movie might be the only way someone like me (a white male) can even begin to glimpse the gravitas of what it is like to be targeted because you are deemed defeatable in a physical struggle. Anna Kendrick as Cheryl Bradshaw is not the story of this film. Anna Kendrick as the director who inherently knows how to portray this deplorable action to the viewer in the perfect weight while maintaining a level of humor, sharpness and pace to her debut directing project gives many characters depth while never seeming to overdramatize any particular situation. One can only hope more brilliant scripts are hitting her front door with vigor asking for her behind the camera as well as in front.
