The episode begins with a tragedy at an Indian wedding, where Bobby has an outburst regarding the buildings structural integrity. Also interwined with Abby and Buck seeing each other in real life for the first time because Abby's mother with alzeimers disappeared.
Bobby is speaking with a priest about how he has been hiding his past from the 118 and that they put they trust in him but he hasn't been honest with them. It then cuts to a flashback of Bobby's old life in Minnesota where he was married and had two children. It ends in tragedy when their apartment building catches on fire and his family was caught inside. (We learn later that his wife makes it out and later dies at the hospital but his children died in the fire.) Bobby blames himself for the fire because he was secretly in an abandoned apartment, with a space heater... he was drunk and didn't remember to turn it off before he went back to his apartment. He had a fight with his wife about his drinking and he went to the roof and got drunk again. He was up there when the fire alarms began going off and he tried to get back to his family but it was too late... Cut back to present day, Bobby is telling this story to the priest.
In another story of the episode, Hen was visiting her ex wife in prison and was having disagreements with her current wife about it. This causes strife and distrust in their relationship. Worried about Denny, Karen is worried about what the trouble the ex will cause in their lives if she is out of prison.
Buck continues to help Abby try to track down her mother. They hear a call over the radio about an accident end up helping a little girl stuck on a pool floatie in the middle of an electrified pool. They eventually find her mother.
