Long ago two poor Kazakhs found a treasure in the steppe. They did not know what to do with this gold and came for advice to a wise old man. In turn, the sage wanted to know the opinion of his students. His older pupil Ermek judged that gold should be given to Khan. Another disciple offered to bury the treasure back into the ground. And the younger student Asan said that with this money he would have bought the seeds of the best trees and raised a large shady garden in the steppe. Then the teacher sent Asan to the Khan's capital for seeds. A hard path lay ahead for the boy, in the steppe he was trapped by Ermek, who, with the help of witchcraft, twice tried to take away the gold.
