While Jon Favreau and his team were shooting Lucasfilm’s The Mandalorian, Star Wars creator George Lucas visited the set to check it out. As you might imagine, the two talents had a lot to talk about and during one of their conversations, Lucas offered Favreau some advice on telling stories.
Favreau shared what Lucas told him in an interview with GQ Middle East:
“We had a long talk with each other. One thing he said to me was, ‘Remember, Jon, the real audience for all stories and all myths is the kids that are coming of age,’ because he’s really a Joseph Campbell adherent.”
For those of you who aren’t familiar with Joseph Campbell, he is the author of The Hero with a Thousand Faces, which is his opinion on the hero’s journey, which is a guide to follow when telling a hero’s story and...

The first season of Disney Plus’ live-action “Star Wars” series “The Mandalorian” hasn’t even debuted yet, but executive producer Jon Favreau is already working on Season 2.
“The Lion King” director revealed as much in an appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” Thursday night, telling the host, “We’re done with the first season. I’m actually writing part of the second season now. So I’m having a blast.”
“It’s honestly like turning over your toy chest and playing with all the ‘Star Wars’ toys together. We’re having a great time,” Favreau added.
“The Mandalorian” begins its story after “Return of the Jedi” and the fall of the Empire and follows the story of a lone Mandalorian warrior (Pedro Pascal) as he travels the galaxy far away from the New Republic and its laws. His character is modeled after bounty hunters from previous trilogies, Jango and Boba Fett.

Star Wars fans seem to be more excited about Lucasfilm’s Disney+ series The Mandalorian than they are for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. We have yet to see a trailer for it officially released, but one was shown at Star Wars Celebration that ended up blowing fans away! More footage from the series will be coming to D23 later this summer. Maybe during that event, the trailer will officially be released online.
Jon Favreau, the writer and producer of the series, recently stopped by Jimmy Kimmell Live and it was there that he confirmed he’s already working on writing The Mandalorian Season 2! Disney+ and Lucasfilm have yet to greenlight a second season, but Favreau is going to be ready for it when they do.
When talking about the series, which is set after the events of Return of the Jedi, Favreau teased:

No matter how many different ways Nick Offerman says “jam sesh time” in “Hearts Beat Loud,” a melancholy dramedy from writer/director Brett Haley, it falls flat. The flat intonation and lethargic matter-of-factness that made Offerman’s Ron Swanson the wry backbone of “Parks & Recreation” feels too heavy for Frank Fisher, an aging hipster trying to salvage his record store and his relationship with his daughter. The premise screams comedy: Dad and daughter band finds unexpected success from their first single. While the songs are pretty, the movie’s tune is inexplicably mournful, sinking under the weight of Frank’s mid-life crisis. Despite a rockin’ premise and a stellar cast, “Hearts Beat Loud” never quite finds its rhythm.
Doing her best to bring the sunshine is Frank’s daughter, Sam, played by Kiersey Clemons, who burst onto the scene as a lovable tomboy in 2015’s “Dope.” The movie is set...

Tom Holland’s appearance in “Avengers: Infinity War” isn’t the only time we’re going to be seeing Peter Parker or Spider-Man on the big screen in 2018. Sony has released the official trailer for “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse,” the upcoming animated superhero film from the minds of Phil Lord and Chris Miller. The former wrote the movie, which is directed by Bob Persichetti, Peter Ramsey, and Rodney Rothman.
“Into the Spider-Verse” introduces the young Miles Morales to the big screen. “Dope” breakout Shameik Moore voices the young Spider-Man, who ends becoming the protégé of Peter Parker. “New Girl” star Jake Johnson voices Parker, which means fans will be getting two Spider-Man characters for the price of one in “Into the Spider-Verse.” Mahershala Ali and Brian Tyree Henry also have voice roles in the film. Hailee Steinfeld shows up at the end of the trailer as Gwen Stacy.

It goes without saying that Zoë Kravitz is probably one of the most genetically blessed women in Hollywood - as the only daughter of rocker Lenny Kravitz and actress Lisa Bonet, 28-year-old Zoë not only inherited her parents' good looks, but also their talent. She's risen to fame both on screen in films like Mad Max: Fury Road, Dope, and the Divergent series and also showcases her musical prowess on stage with her band, Lolawolf. If that wasn't cool enough, Zoë also surrounds herself with ultracool, high-profile fashion designers and fellow starlets and has dated hot celebrity guys like Penn Badgley, Chris Pine, Drake, and her current beau, Karl Glusman.
Lenny and Lisa were married from 1987 to 1993, but despite splitting, they've remained some of the most amicable exes ever. They are regularly spotted on outings around La and even attended the Met Gala together in 2015 - and of course, they...

No TV conversation is complete anymore without the Netflix behemoth, as the service adds entire seasons to its never-ending pile on a weekly basis. While recently putting together a roundup of every TV review IndieWire has published in 2018, we came to the realization that it would probably take a lifetime to get through all the shows released in this calendar year alone.
Netflix has said it will spend upwards of $8 billion annually in programming costs. Granted, some of that goes to acquisition of previously produced content — but CFO David Wells has said Netflix will produce as much as 700 originals worldwide this year. That’s a lot of TV.
In 2017, Netflix ended the year by reporting that users watched more than 140 million hours of content per day, or 1 billion hours per week. But that’s a collective stat. To put a solid number on how much of our lives Netflix has been vying for,...

Sony’s upcoming animated Spider-Man movie Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse received a teaser trailer a few months ago and now we’re getting more news on the cast and characters. We’ve known for months that will Shameik Moore stars as Miles Morales, but we now know Jake Johnson will voice Peter Parker.
News for the film up to this point has been scarce. Thanks to Cineblend‘s, Sean O’Connell who attended the CinemaCon 2018 panel details are emerging. There are three main villains set to be featured, all of whom we are familiar with.
The Green Goblin, The Kingpin, and The Prowler. Will the new animated movie suffer the three villain syndrome? Spider-man 3 suffered from this, but I’m confident that this animated film will succeed where its live-action counterparts failed. Why am I so confident, well.. check out the first teaser trailer below:
