fun Trip
SnoopyStyle29 December 2020
Ab Fab stars Joanna Lumley and Jennifer Saunders take a trip across France and reminiscing about their 25 years of friendship. This is basically the ladies doing themselves. They are best sitting around, drinking, and talking. As for the champagne tasting, some of that has to be in their minds. It is fascinating what some people are doing to be different. I can see the gold barrel taking off. I do want them to chat more and maybe pitch silly ideas to each other. Maybe get a bit more personal and talk about the others in the cast. It's a fun little trip.

A delightful and nostalgic watch!

An absolute delight to see Eddy and Pats being together again and revisiting their memories with AbFab. One of the best things about this documentary is seeing their friendship not just as their characters, but as Joanna Lumley and Jennifer Saunders. The documentary does not focus too much on the facts and history of champagne, but on the journey of two old friends traveling together. If you are an AbFab fan, this is a perfect treat.

A little bit self indulgent

Joanna Lumley and Jennifer Saunders from Absolutely Fabulous are both lovely hosts, and both have the grace to heavily hint that this trip exploring France's champagne district is rather ridiculously opulent and is a reward for their years of hard work. But is it good television? Well, watching the two ladies quaff their 50th glass of champagne does get a little tedious. It is lovely countryside but endless grape picking, factory and cellar trips, tastings and meals aren't riveting, to be honest. It's like tagging along on two good friends' holiday to France - it's not your trip, and you feel like you're intruding. Yes we know champagne is lovely, and you can get tipsy, but really, what's the point?
