Season Two Review

Hot on the heels of the first season of the Netflix animated series comes another hilarious run.

Plot and content wise, it's very much more of the same. There are some moments of extremely cringey gross out humour, mixed with pathos and wit and fourth wall breaking. However, elevating the series (and earning the extra star boost from 8 to 9) the peerless David Thewlis, added to the cast as "The Shame Wizard". His unique voice (and singing voice no less) elevate what should be a very obvious character to the star of the season. With Jordan Peele presumably too busy to provide as much "Ghost of Duke Ellington" for this second season, a very game Nathan Fillion continues his quest to be in every Netflix show and steps up as a recurring fantasy figure in Missy's life.

With a depth and honest about puberty that only works with by the exaggerating nature of anthropomorphising aspects of the adolescent experience it's a marvel that "Big Mouth" manages to do that a but so funny - but it does, and long may it continue.

The Department of Puberty (#2.10)

Warning: Spoilers
The last episode of the season takes us on an adventure trip to the department of puberty. Pretty creative. They also address the issue of depression when Jessi is taken by the Depression Kitty. A good character, liked how she put her butthole into everyone's face. We also had a nice story of Jay exploring his sexuality with boy and girl pillows. And Nick finally reached puberty. So it was a nice wrap up of the season.

As the end of the season it could've been better. To sum up, season 2 and season 1 are both very similar and both good in certain ways.

Season 2 is already unwatchable. During the end of the season it gets just plain idiotic.
