Cute show, and a rebuttal to cookieleelulilly
Sefern83029 December 2018
The show is adorable, and likely to be a big hit amongst preschoolers. It ads a bit of often flair while still remaining wholesome for kids. It's a win fir my kids.

In response to another comment by cookieleelulully; I live in Georgia where we take Christmas seriously, and no one cares if anyone says Happy Holidays. Between Halloween, which now lasts a month, and Thanksgiving, then Christmas (or whatever holiday you celebrate) and then New Years exactly a week later, it's a holiday season. Seriously, who has time or the memory to keep up with which holiday it is every week? In two months, we have at least four holidays. My head is still spinning.

You sound like quite the snowflake, getting your panties in a bunch over everything.

I'm impressed

Unlike say, Rainblw rangers. I actually enjoyed the characters & the story a lot better. They all have their flaws & other quirks. I think it was better to show flaws to children to know it's ok to not be perfect. Unlike the Mary Sue's in most shows

Not too bad

Warning: Spoilers
When I saw the first 2 episodes of this show online, I hated it at first solely because A) It's from modern Nick Jr and B) I didn't even bother to look past the surface. BUT, now I have changed my mind. I kinda feel bad for hating on this show before.

Butterbean's Cafe is actually one of the best shows Nick Jr has had in a while (not counting acquired shows such as T&F). The writing is above average, even though it can get a bit too sweet at times. The animation can be nice to look at in some scenes.

I find the plots to be somewhat interesting (going off the Wikipedia descriptions anyways), and there's a number of them that I wanna watch. My most favorite aspect of the show is how it's a spoof of cooking shows on the Food Network. The whole show is pretty much set up like a reality show, the characters even have confession scenes sometimes. The cooking scenes are entertaining and even a bit educational.

My only real complaint with the show is that Dazzle, Poppy, Jasper, and Cricket are basically all the same characters, but with a different coat of paint. You could switch their roles in an episode, and nothing would change. I find the most interesting character in the show to be Ms. Marmalady, the villain of the show, the Plankton to Butterbean and co's SpongeBob in that she wants to put them out of business. In retrospect, I'm glad it's become a huge hit for Nick. (PS, if you dislike this show, I respect your opinion)

Nickelodeon, You've warm my Heart!

I decided to watch this Series, I fell in love with this clear viewpoint of this animated cooking series.

It was like Strawberry Shortcake of the 21st Century. So I've watched about 2 Different Story of the Episodes.

For the Characters themselves in this Series.

The Main Characters were friendly, sweet, and nice while they co-op on working together on making different foods, as each episodes progresses. The Villains wants to distract the main characters, But they were Mediocre and Funny at the same time.

Now, for the Soundtrack.

The music was really charming, It you hum along during music themes of this series.

The First Part of this Episode that watched on how to make Fluttercakes, Where Butterbean and Cricket teamed together on making Butterfly Pancakes to Compete against Ms. Marmalady on making Pancakes, When a Characters loses, they have to take out the Garbage as a rotten, disgusting chore.

The Second Part of this Episode deals with making a Special Picnic while making Badge shaped Cookies, While Ms. Marmalady and her Monkey Crew(s) wanted to messed up the Main Characters (Butterbean & Cricket) Special Picnic Area, When there ants around there was no place to eat, Cricket came up with an idea, while borrowing from (one of) Poppy Ingredients that the Ants really despised.

Sometimes, during in the middle of Episodes, Characters have some short Interviews on what's going to be coming up next, What other characters including Butterbean on the things that they to do with their stuff on recipes etc... It makes the stories very easy to follow through and knows what things will happen during scenes in this Wonderful Series.

BTW, If you grew up with the Original Strawberry Shortcake from the 1980's or the modern (Former) Berry Bitty Adventures and so on, This series is for You.

Hopefully, I'll will be watching more episodes as well.

I will recommend this Series with a Warming Passion on People who likes to cook. As well as Supportive and Teamwork. :) ;) <3

This Animated Series from Nick Jr is really worth watching!

Note: This has been watched online. In Conclusion (Closing Thoughts):

My Rating: 10/10

Backwards

A group of girls have magic powers and use these to.... run a cafe and bake cakes.

The main concerns are dropping the muffins and how to look after customer's children when asked.

Add to that Kardashian style interviews, where the characters talk about their concerns... generally not having cakes ready on time or burning a donut.

Seems like something from the 1950s not 2020.

My kids love it
raqsjulia28 November 2018
My kids, 4 and 2, love this show, and it's not like one of those typical obnoxious kids shows, so I like watching it too. I love that it's about food, which is an important topic in our current health and environment situation. It teaches good lessons to young kids about working together as well.

Cute show BUT use "hate" too much
catiebarrett-6754714 November 2018
Cute show with great potential but the two episodes we watched, the neighbor baker used "hate" way too much. I'd prefer my 3 year old to not pick that phrase up and I think most parents will say the same.

I can't speak too highly of this show!
jimbo97-129 April 2020
I know one reviewer was up in arms because no one said "Merry Christmas", but other than that and a few "new wave" ideas (like one minor character who "doesn't eat meat") this show is just too cute to rate negatively. I'm a 67 year old retiree with no kids and I don't know how I chanced upon this show, but it is head-and-shoulders above the rest of the Nick Jr. line-up.

Butterbean is "the very best boss" that you wish your boss was like! But her 6-year old sister Cricket is the real star of the show, always wanting to help out, but her inexperience in life can get her into bad situations.

The show teaches perseverance, teamwork (the catchy song "Let's Get Cooking!") and life skills, most notably a beginner's guide to cooking that should inspire youngsters to help out in the kitchen and put food on the table.

The 3D animation is masterful! All-in-all, Butterbean's Cafe is just plain CUTE, and I hope it continues!

One of the best Nick Jr has to offer, but only once a week
R3DD0T1 August 2021
What do you do with the highest rated show since Paw Patrol? Air it once a week. My daughter enjoys this show and is one of the shows us parents can tolerate...but feel Nick Jr is pushing other shows that don't offer as good of content (Baby Shark, Deer squad) or rerunning the same shows of Paw Patrol or Blues Clues. They have a solid show in this one, but are giving it the shaft.
