As a fan of SNL since it's inception, I periodically take a chance and catch the odd episode of SNL hoping that the producers will gett off of their Trump bashing agenda . With Jessica Chastain hosting, I thought this would be an opportunity for SNL to display some decent comedy. WRONGGGGGGG!!!!!
Instead it was just another continual Trump bashing which in my view, indicates that the owners of NBC have opted to utilize this sacred 90 minute "Saturday Night" period to attempt to discredit the current President of the United States and his family without any consideration for how it is actually backfiring on the democratic party position, if they even have one.
Just think about it for a second. NBC has a nation wide of baby boomers who grew up watching Chevy Chase, Dan Aykroyd, John Belushi, Eddie Murphy, and comedians like Gilda Radner, Bill Murray, Dana Carvey and Mike Meyers just to name a few, performing and impersonating an endless string of current events and people, not just the opposition party in power.
Every time I sit across from friends or family, I ask them if they caught SNL last Saturday and their usual response is something like the following "no, I can't stand their brand of political bashing, and their singing guests are usually a bunch of nobody's that their trying to shove down our throats".
I couldn't agree more. I love Jessica Chastain, but they must pay their weekly host(s) a shi*load of money to come on SNL and perform these heavily juiced scripts that are so negative against the current President, Donald Trump, and the Republican party. What is funny at all about trying to unwind and watch such disturbing nonsense being performed by some very good host(s) week after week, year after year.
I give this weeks episode a 2 out of 10 rating . The extra point is for Jessica Chastain, nothing else.
