Once more Tahar Rahim shines in this riveting drama, made by a French female director whose it is here her first movie. Tahar is so good in this petty punk, lousy character, so convincing that you may wish to get into the movie and blow his head off when you see how he behaves with the poor girl. And I Don't even speak of Jean Michel Correia, terrfic as a brutal debt collector. That's not a film noir, nor a crime movie, but only a drama about gambling addiction. A pretty well made character study.

Gambling and pathological love, it's all there. A great reference to my impulse control classes.

Warning: Spoilers
It's the age old story. Boy meets innocent hard working girl with her own restaurant; girl falls in love with boy; boy takes girl gambling and destroys both their lives. But seriously this is a really good movie and inspite of the subtitles it is a griping story for those of us unfortunates who don't speak French. Make sure you go and see it.

Trite, trope filled and poorly acted

Zero pathos or passion in this awful and simple minded film. The leads can't act, have no chemistry and there are 100 better films about gambling
