- From high-speed movie chases, to relaxing family vacations, Jay looks at every possible type of getaway, including criminal escapes, averting traffic tickets, avoiding discrimination, and getting away with your life.
- From a high-speed chase and criminal escapes to a relaxing family vacation, Jay explores different ways to make a getaway. He also learns that sometimes there are hurdles to getting away, like not knowing how to drive, or obstacles in our own culture. First, Jay plays driving instructor to Johnny Rotten because, although the legendary punk rocker has lived in L.A. for decades, amazingly, he has never learned how to drive. Jay then meets up with director Michael Mann to discuss how 1930s gangsters escaped, often in the Ford V8, and the level of automotive detail Mann includes in his films and TV shows. They drive to Willow Springs International Motorsports Park to see how former racer and director Jeff Zwart films chase scenes. Next Jay meets Georgia Durante to hear the incredible story of how she went from being a model, to a getaway driver for the mob, to one of the top stunt drivers in Hollywood. Next, a few members of the LAPD tell tales about who got busted and who got away, including Jay himself. A family from Georgia named Griswold tells how they modified a 1984 Ford LTD Country Squire station wagon into their own Wagon Queen Family Truckster patterned after the "Vacation" films. Comedian George Wallace shows Jay how black people used to travel through segregated America using "The Negro Motorist Green Book." George and Jay stop at a few of the places in L.A. that were listed in the book. This show's installment of "Assess and Caress" features three models of cars that were featured in great movie chases.
