UK thriller Vigil picked up best drama series at the 50th International Emmy Awards ceremony in New York on Monday (November 21).
The series stars Suranne Jones as a detective investigating a murder on a Hms submarine. It was produced by World Productions and premiered on BBC One in 2021.
TV shows and performers from the UK scooped up seven awards in total, the most of any country.
This included best comedy for Netflix’s Sex Education and best mini-series for Help which stars Jodie Comer and Stephen Graham and is set in a care home during the Covid pandemic.
