There's an IMDB page for this? Well okay then! That is TIGHT!
cinephile-276901 August 2019
There's not much to say on Pitch Meetings, but now that I know that IMDB has a page for this(with many people finding this helpful), I thought I would give my quick thoughts(considering the length of the other reviews.)

This You Tube series by Ryan George playfully makes fun of movies in a very funny way. They all have the same premise(episode 100 pokes fun at this), where a screenwriter tells the plot of his movie to a studio executive and pokes fun of the mini and major flaws a movie has. I won't go any further to make the experience better.

Some videos I suggest looking up are: Home Alone, Spider Man 2, Toy Story, Sausage Party, other Disney movies, etc.

Plus they're all about 5 minutes long, so finding time to watch them is super easy, barely an inconvenience!

In short-this is a fun and FUNNY series that film lovers (and those who have seen the movies) will get a kick and chuckle out of!

Well okay then

How hard is it reviewing this you ask? Super easy, barely an inconvience! Yes everyone reviewing this should include at least this one quote! If not, you're kinda missing the point! Whoops! Whoopsie! But these are just a few of the memorable things that get repeated.

Pitch Meetings overtook the Honest Trailer created space. For a long time I held the Honest Trailers in the highest regard (After Earth is still top notch, the honest trailer of it that is), but when I discovered this last year ... Cats is probably one of my favorite meetings but there are so many more ... Watch it if you want to see how fine editing, great scripts ideas and humor can work ... Be aware that most if not all Pitch Meetings have major plot spoilers!

Absolutely brilliant!
jazz-9420 November 2019
Yeah, WOW! I have watched about 30 of these in the last week alone. So addictive. Ryan has created the perfect formula for pointing out the ridiculousness of movie plots by creating these hypothetical conversations. Even movies I love get the treatment but it's done so well, that it doesn't matter. The catchphrases are awesome and never get old. I walk around now saying "Super easy! Barely an inconvenience!" every chance I get. Much recommends.

Who'd have thunk it _My First review is for a YouTube channel
jbirdsong34 January 2020
I just found this channel yesterday, and I've done quite a bit of binge watching. If you're a Big Ol Goof Ball like me, you'll thoroughly enjoy this channel. Videos are not too long or short, and he delivers his points so hysterically, because his sense of humor is TIGHT!

Some of the Best From YouTube and Comedy Itself
Intro: I've watched every Screen Rant: Pitch Meeting at least twice, and I laugh harder and harder every time. To say the least, this show's worth watching. Pitch Meetings is easily some of the best material to come out of YouTube, and one of my favorite shows of all time.

Comedy: Every episode centers around two screenwriters, as they make terrible decisions in making popular films. And Ryan George's expertly done comedic writing. From the funny catchphrases, such as, "Super easily, barely an inconvenience." and the just the way it also acts as a sort of movie review. Pointing out flaws in the film you not have noticed, and critiquing them in a professional way. Hilarious running gags, funny catch phrases, and great reviews. The writing in Pitch Meetings is on point.

Characters: The two characters of this show are both played by Ryan George, and over the top portrayals of Hollywood screenwriters. And are a pleasure to watch, as it is clear, they really don't know much about screenwriting. And it's always to watch how they make such rookie mistakes all the time.

Conclusion: Pitch Meetings both functions as a good comedy and a good review channel. And to conclude, I love every second of this show, as I mentioned before this show is hilarious, and I've watched at least every episode at least twice. And I don't regret anything, and considering the 9.3 rating, it seems like I'm not alone.

Ryan George's pitch meetings are basically the only content from ScreenRant that I actually watch.

He is hilarious while cynically breaking down stupid decisions and oversights writers and studio execs make in some of the movies they put out.

Always good for a laugh.

Good but not that good.
Foreverisacastironmess12316 September 2022
Certainly not nine out of ten good, well at least to me anyway, I mean if you like it that's fine but please don't overrate the hell out of it and make it sound better than it is, he's quite cute and funny but his voice can get a little monotonous and grating after a while, I couldn't ever see myself binging this show. I really like the clever criticisms of the movies though, and pointing out some of the more nonsensical crap that you probably get in any given movie of you look hard enough but that usually goes over most people's heads, because they're probably too busy enjoying the movie, that part of this online show is really good and well written and it's actually not a dumb show at all. He's a likeable guy I enjoy his energetic delivery and his dual roles. I mostly like to watch this in stops and starts, it's okay and very enjoyable x.

The solution for subscribing to pitch meeting without getting the rest of screen rant
jj_lawrence13 July 2020
If you spin off pitch meeting into a separate youtube channel - as so so so many people have requested - it would leave a miserable number of followers for the main screen rant channel. So I wouldn't hold your breath for that change. But there is your temporary work around: simply add the pitch meeting playlist to your YT library and unsubscribe from screen rant. You can find the pitch meeting playlist on the screen rant youtube home page under... (checks notes)... playlists. Problem solved. Now you can check the playlist once a week for new pitch meetings. (Plus new pitch meeting videos will most likely still appear in your home page feed even if you don't subscribe to screen rant they just won't appear in your subscription feed). And also subscribe to Ryan George's personal youtube station for more comedic truth telling. Those comedic set ups may not be quite as brilliant as his pitch meetings but they are nonetheless still brilliant. My work here is done.

Reviewing this show is super easy, barely an inconvenience!
maddoxsmith-791214 May 2021
This show is great but I really dont like the channel it gets posted on. Ryan George should just start posting it on his own channel. And you could argue every video is the same but I'm gonna need you to get ALLLLLLLLL the way off my back about this thing being all the same.

I love it!

I'm reviewing this just after Cinema Sins (mean spirited pedantry) and Honest Trailers (excellent but missing the personal touch). Pitch Meetings beats them both. Why? Memorable catchphrases, witty dialogue, expressive presentation and a cheery attitude!

Tight

This is an Internet series made by Ryan George. Although this is his most iconic work, he also made some other great series, like the first guys to do stuff. The setup is very basic, as it features Ryan talking to himself giving obviously pitch meetings. There's too many series nowadays that take on popular movies. While this has been compared to "Honest Trailers" the most, you could also compare it to "Cinema Sins" or "How It Should Have Ended", also great shows. I guess it's to the point where we can call Internet series shows.

What's amazing is that this series can take on both good and bad movies, which again, a lot of those other series can. My favorite of all is probably "The Santa Clause". It's also great when they (or should I say he) makes fun of himself like in the 100th or 200th episode. It can get a little repetitive. Luckily, I get used to hearing, "Actually it'll be super easy, barely an inconvenience". No, I'm not saying that directly in this review.

It's easy to see a lot of these videos at once seeing as how they're short and numerous. He does get some facts wrong (the one for the Mario movie was horrendous about that!), but for the most part, it's questions a lot of us ask ourselves even when watching our favorite movies. It's just a guy talking to himself about how a movie would work. While simplistic, it still works out great. He'll even occasionally do TV shows. We always get great emotions out of him. ****

So you have a review for me? Yes sir, I do.
shsankar12 December 2021
Easily one of the funniest and original contents on YouTube right now. Ryan George is a genius. His delivery, comedic timing, jokes, catchphrases, every single aspect of it is TIGHT! It almost feels like the producer guy and the writer guy are totally different people. Twilight Breaking Dawn is probably one of my favorite pitch meetings. I literally binge watched every episode of it in a week, that's how good the content is. Please do yourself a favor and go check it out. It's gonna be SUPER EASY, BARELY AN INCONVENIENCE.

Pitch Perfect -- How Has No One Used This Already?
katharineshowalter7 February 2023
We have gotten to a place in filmdom where the parody surpasses the original (attempts at) art. Ryan George is some kind of genius, the way he precisely examines then dissects modern Hollywood content, striking at the (empty, greedy) heart of where all the C Suite garbage originates. It's a brilliant concept -- because the pitch meeting is where all the pablum we are spoonfed is churned into pandering, low-brow, illogical mush. You would think he's shooting his acting career in the foot with this kind of brutally honest evisceration, but, no, Disney or Netflix or Paramount will seek him out for their soulless productions once he gets popular enough. They're parasites, and his show exposes that, not that they care. Honestly, I look more forward to George's pitches than to most actual movies or TV series. He's so much more consistently and intellectually entertaining.
