The Columbia Pictures logo figure (featuring Columbia, a woman that represents the United States) in the opening gets animated, one foot displays socks with the carpet pattern of the Overlook Hotel in The Shining (1980). At the start of the movie as Katie dances in her room she displays her socks with the same carpet pattern from The Shining.
Monchi the Dog was originally going to be voiced by a professional voice actor. Instead, the part went to Doug the Pug, an actual dog.
