The producers and BBC have decided to introduce a new system after 26 highly successful series.
Antiques Road Trip is not, of course, about the competition. BUT the comp between the two protagonists of each week adds a lovely frisson. You don't know until the end of the week who is going to 'win' and those who do badly early on may pull off a great bargain later. It's also really easy to follow as you can see who has most money.
It was great. Lots of brilliant weeks season after season.
So why on earth did they change it? I don't know but they have and it is now MUCH worse. They start with a bigger pot and then it's about who wins each day. Several weeks are all over by the third or fourth day. Absolutely ridiculous and almost impossible to follow the scoring now.
It's such a shame.
