A Major Glitch
nymormon4 April 2018
As usual, this episode of NCIS is fantastic. The writers have a way of keeping the audience waiting for the next scene. But, I found one major problem with this episode. Abby tells Bishop that an ID card was used in a base commissary. McGee and Torres go to a cafeteria to look for the imposter. A military commissary is a grocery store, not a cafeteria. Anyone familiar with the military knows this, but apparently the writers didn't ask. It would be nice if the writers and directors actually knew what's what when it comes to the military. I used to shop in a commissary. And, for a couple years I worked in one. I may have to show my ID card to cash out in the commissary, but I have never scanned it, nor have I seen anyone scanning their ID card.

The Numerical Limit

Warning: Spoilers
I know some people will complain about the political leanings of this show and this episode in particular, but I think you have to accept that battle when you watch TV. I did not have a major problem with any of it, but the storyline was just not that exciting in my mind.

NCIS has had some decent episodes this season, but this was pretty forgettable.

An okay political story.

Warning: Spoilers
Almost every season of NCIS has an episode when either refugees or gang wars are discussed. I don't personally love politics, but I guess these subjects are important in the 21th century. We can all agree though: my taste doesn't have to fit with producers, writers, so I am going to criticize this episode on a story base.

Let's see the positives first.

. "The numerical limit" is semi-enjoyable at times with okay humor, character work. The action scenes are still well done and feel intense. Acting's also quite good.

But....

. The mystery itself did not intrigue me as I would liked to. In terms of twists and turns this episode is pretty forgettable. At times, the plot can get too heavy of politics and it forgets about providing the audience with a compelling narrative.

Overall, an okay watch, but could have been a lot better.
