So cliché (girl goes to university and wants to join a sorority, overbearing cop dad is having a hard time letting her go, people are being killed on campus, stories merge, you can predict where it's gonna go from there ...).
Bad acting, bad editing, bad soundtrack...
Just don't bother.

It's like 2 different movies combined

So this film wanted to be a slasher and a teen party movie.
They split their focus so much that they ended up making both parts bad.
The acting was pretty bad from everyone,it has a generic revenge story.
I don't think it's worth a watch atm.

Very shaky cameras, quick pans in/out, 2 unconnected stories; one with no resolution, bimbo Head detective that was a horrible stand-in; I mean actress, quick kills that no-one seemed to be concerned about, lots of T&A jumping around, timeline made no sense, love Lala Kent but she wasn't exciting and has short one liners at a monotone voice. She is fun to watch on VANDERPUMP RULES. Very predictable to a lame "past event". Luckily I don't have to worry about money or I would be upset to lose the 8.50 I paid. This is more of a Netflix made silly slasher movie. Looks, plastic hoes, alcohol, drugs, is really the theme. Are there men in this movie? Lol
Disappointing

I was hoping for more but was let down. Turned the movie off before it was over due to the shaky camera and poor story line. Teen girls running around half naked, drunk and druged out with a few SHORT scenes of murder which only lasted a couple of seconds each sums up this awful movie. I love Vanderpump Rules but LALA KENT acting was dull and not what I would expect after watching her on the show.
MTV mashup...

Warning: Spoilers
Murders are happening on campus and a freshman discovers "dark secrets" about the sorority she's pledging...and at 17mins in you will easily guess who the killer is.
The headache-inducing editing and cringe-worthy acting make this a must-see for masochists and those who like their eyes to bleed. I've seen better quality films shot on an iPhone.
The director is obviously going for a hip, happening kind of style that will cater to the dumbed down teenage market. The only problem is that even the teenage market expects more than this trite trash. Perhaps some naked boobs would have helped here, but even that is denied the discerning viewer (can't show naked boobies to under 14's!)
Seriously though, this film is just a mess from start to finish. I've seen scarier Slipknot videos!
3.1 seems very high of a rating for this neg3 movie

Whoa was this bad. I can't believe how badly edited this movie is. Too many music video slowmo party sequences and blur effects could give anyone a headache. There's at least 3 times where there's some type of party going on and time has slowed and there's a music overlay for about 2-3 mins. For some reason the girls after finding a dead body in their house they want to go out and party again the next day like nothing happened. the killer is obvious when you meet him. They try too hard to make someone else look like the killer its obvious its not him. the climactic ending is very anti climactic. and the daughter is extremely unlikable for being one of the main characters or "final girl". Whats funny is that they focus this movie mostly around the dad but then dont really give him any character development and everything is just flat. theres not much going for this movie.
I love this movie

So I will begin saying that all the negative reviews are totally fair. I'm a super big fan of super low budget outsider-ish films and I think this sort of fits in that category. It feels like if Harmony's korines Spring Breakers met Sorority Row and took out all the artistic integrity and most of the budget. Watch the trailer and you'll get a sense of what you're in for, and if you can dig it then it's a fun ride. Feels like an MTV made for tv film from the early 2000s. I saw it a month or 2 ago so I forget a lot of the plot but I remember being fairly intrigued. Sadly there's not a lot of gore. Also, Mia Rose Frampton, who plays Beck, was a really fun and great character.
This wasn't a good movie. But it was wicked cool, interesting, and something you won't see everyday. If that sounds cool, then you'll dig it!
Not Great But Not Bad Either

I think many of the 3 and lower ratings for this movie are just too harsh.
Yes, you could complain about frenetic camera work at times, some predictable plot, and some of the secondary characters were not so plausible (head detective and cops that looked old enough to be students).
However, the main characters were well cast and their acting was decent, the story unpeeled at a good pace through the movie, I didn't get bored while watching it and the ending was satisfying - overall, I enjoyed it!
IMO this is a good college/slasher/suspense movie.

This lumbering excuse for a movie left me feeling I had wasted nearly two hours of time watching mindless pretty people TRY to act and failing miserably. The storyline is predictable and never gets off the ground. My advice - don't waste your time on this awful movie.
Just horrible

This is what happens when your boyfriend is in the movie business. This was the WORST movie with the WORST acting. Thank GOD it was free on Comcast. Not one bit of this movie was good and it was not only stupid but a total waste of time...
On sorority row
TheLittleSongbird8 November 2018
Part of me was semi-intrigued, being someone who is no stranger to horror films and has liked quite a lot and the idea interested me somewhat despite being ridiculous. A large part of me was apprehensive though, having heard it was not good and that it looked like one of those cheap and overdone films with a muddled tone.
Which, when watching it, was what 'The Row' essentially was, cheap and overdone with nothing interesting or scary. It is not just not a good film, it's an intelligence insulting waste of time. If it was trying to entertain, scare or both, 'The Row' failed abysmally on both counts, making the film a terrible chore to sit through. Am not hating or trying to be malicious, it is just my genuine stance on a film that didn't do anything for me as well as many others
From beginning to end the acting, from particularly the leads, is both overplayed and stiff. In all fairness they were hindered by hammy direction, constantly awkward and limp dialogue and that the film has no interesting or likeable character whatsoever.
Script is childish, flabby and even improvisatory-sounding. The story is not much of one and takes forever to get going, when it finally does it is not for long and it is too late to care. 'The Row' seemed like a comedy mixed with slasher horror, and over-emphasises the comedy and stereotypical teenage drama too much.
Unfortunately, the comedy is not even close to being strong enough to make this imbalance not matter, it is completely witless, childish and so overdone it gets exhausting. The more horror-like elements are a long way from tense or suspenseful, generating little interest even. The kills were not creative and would go as far to say they were too tame, while the things there to by the film's definition "spice things up" came over as gratuitous and abused.
'The Row' is a cheap looking film that even makes the scenery look tacky. Can't remember anything about the soundtrack.
Overall, terrible. 1/10 Bethany Cox

Warning: Spoilers
Riley Cole (Lala Kent) at the insistence of her best friend Becks (Mia Rose Frampton) pledges the Phi Lamda sorority at Vanternin State. Here Riley discovers her deceased mother was a legacy. Her father (Randy Couture) is a cop.
The sorority is nicknamed "The Doll House" and is what a Victoria Secrets sorority would look like. Soon the girls are being killed and body parts stolen.
Pretty girls in bikinis. The killings are not graphic or very horrific. Not many suspects. No creepy janitor. Slight twist on the back story.
Do they still use the term "quad?" And why to cops use flashlights when they are trying to sneak up on someone in the dark?
Guide: F-word, sex, brief partial nudity.

Only the last 20 minutes were reasonably rewarding

Warning: Spoilers
After some 45 minutes into this supposed horror-movie I almost gave up, I was getting pretty bored by the lack of serious suspense and scares, and annoyed with the editing, like the over-the-top flashy images of wildly partying students. But to be honest, in the last 20 minutes things really got better, the pace came into higher gear, the killer got more aggressive and the ultimate show-done was well done and pretty satisfying.
The story is meant to be the usual Scream-like whodunnit-type of slasher, with several potential culprits. Well, the choice here wasn't that hard, of course it turned out to be the most innocent looking person around. For the rest the background story, that should explain the motives for the killings, was (as so often in slasher-movies) pretty farfetched.
I didn't know (apparently world-famous) Lala Kent, but she did okay and is nice to look at (if you're into the Megan Fox type with the pumped-up lips etcetera). I was less impressed by Randy Couture as her father, his acting was uninspiring and his bulky appearance was hardly in sync with the heroic police-officer that he was meant to be. Of the rest of the cast only Shea Buckner stood out. And apparently some lingerie brand was funding the production, during the parties and the hazing in the sorority house there was a virtual parade of girls in the most exotic and flimsy underwear. I guess it goes with the territory of such campus-slasher movies, but being gay I always feel a bit neglected. Is it really so hard or taboo to show some male skin too?!

I thought I was going to love this since I like tiny bobber horror movies but this was worse then the remakes of scream. I mean lala and randy we're good but the producers needed to step it up. It was like D rated actors. They sucked. Awful music also. I was actually raised by my dad who was a single father and he was a cop. This was nothing close to reality, just saying. Everything was so corny. Biggest waist of 13.

These skinless Sorority shenanigans are too plasma light to scare up much of a fitful fright!
Weirdling_Wolf6 May 2022
'The Row' is a disagreeably bloodless pseudo-slasher, egregiously overrun with asinine eminently snuffable characters, and, curiously, little attempt is made to disguise the identity of the obsessively 'Doll-making' psycho! With the The Row's timorous amounts of T&A doing nothing to enliven the rudimentary, thrill-less text. If memory serves,I think it actually states fairly unequivocally in sacred terror tome 'Making Slasher Movies For Dummies' that the bodaciously bootylicious babes ALWAYS pops their tops before they drops, dude!!! Sadly, these skinless Sorority shenanigans are too plasma light to scare up much of a fitful fright! And whoever 'wrote' this fearless farrago clearly flunked slasher basics and desperately needs to enrol at Camp Blood this summer for some essential extracurricular teen-terror tutelage! Infamous alumni of this august place of learning include 'Victor Crowley', 'Madman Marz', 'Cropsey' Et al.
