The stage curtains open ...
"Homecoming - Season 1, Episode 4: Redwood" continues the mystery and intrigue very effectively. This is kind of like a chapter play for adults ... where each episode leaves you hanging with just enough to carry you over until the next one. I am thoroughly enjoying this show - different from what I expected, but better than what I anticipated.
We start off by watching a red berry being gathered from some foreign, exotic plant and then processed into what looked like a serum, and then transported to Homecoming, care of Geist, the parent company. Walter sees the staff removing Shrier's belongings and cleaning out his room, so he confronts Heidi, visibly upset and worried for his friend. She is able to calm him down and get him to open up about a trip he had planned to Yosemite when he was younger. Meanwhile, in the present day, Carrasco hunts down Heidi's former boss, Colin, and when confronted, Colin denies everything, feigning ignorance. Heidi locates her old phone and finds Colin's number in there and calls him ...
I love, love, love the intrigue in this show. It seems with each passing episode that the more clues they provide, the more questions that are raised - and I love it. This show is right up my alley, and I wish I had discovered it sooner.
This episode scores a strong 8 stars out of 10. All the characters are well thought out and developed inside a good story. The production values are high, and the experience and chemistry onscreen is genuine. I highly recommend this episode, as well as everything else up to this point.
