This twenty-seven minute featurette takes a look at the making of GATE II. Director Tibor Takacs, screenwriter Michael Nankin and visual effects creator Randall William Cook are sitting together as they discuss the first movie and how it became a hit, which is why this sequel ended up getting made. You know, it really does seem as if this movie was a horrible production but this documentary never fully gets into it. It is hinted at towards the end but I'm going to guess that there were more stories to tell but perhaps the three couldn't do so or perhaps they just didn't want to open up a can of worms. Whatever the case was, this featurette is still entertaining in its own right and especially the stories dealing with a smaller budget and having to make it work. All three men tell some nice stories about the production and fans should enjoy them but I think there's more to the story.
