Lube belt on a car, don't know how to start a hot tub, don't know how to turn on a barbecue pit, cut telephone wires maybe just twist two together to get phone back on. People taking ecstasy and getting great sleep at night. Not noticing any cameras on the house once they got there I didn't notice them later. Doesn't anyone check real life scenarios before they put script together parent Lee not. Horrible acting. Horrible storyline. Not funny at all although is is a comedy supposedly.

Could be watching something Better
alidortaj25 April 2020
It said it was a comedy but I didn't even come close to a chuckle. More of a mystery but the mystery doesn't even start till like 40 minutes into the movie.
The writing could have been better, the acting could have been better. One of the guys downs like 3 shots after drinking all night and he then goes and has a conversation and doesn't appear to be drunk, idk anymore.

Don't watch

If all people were idiots this movie would be believable. Acting was poor, nothing thrilling, nothing funny, would say it was a waste of two hours, but I fell asleep during a part of it, maybe that contained the good parts.
Worst movie ever

Definitely not a comedy and definitely not a thriller
kahahlbohn4 May 2020
The acting is actually very good in this film, but there wasn't an ounce of comedy in this. Not much of a thriller either, aside from a few bits. If you want to watch a group of annoying friends that are all basically horrible people run around doing absolutely nothing for two hours, this is your film.
It's unprecedented

I have never watch a horror movie with first 50 minutes without anything horrify at all. Its barely nothing for the first hour with friends hang around. If you have some sleeping issue, watch this will definitely help. Also, please don't put fake reviews anymore.
Great film with some great quips

Yep, enjoyed this film. Indie films on a budget are sometimes unexpectedly better than an expensive Hollywood film, of which, this is a good example.
I thought the acting was really good and so realistic... was it improvised??? seemed natural, I thought. The fat guy was funny, Nate was cool, Winston was superb...
Recommended! 7/10

A good indie thriller.

For The Weekend was a good indie thriller. A group of friends emback on a road trip to celebrate one of the friend's birthday. Mystery, intrigue, suspense all make for a remarkable film by Directors Warren J. Williams & Tom Dever. They did a great job pulling the best performaces out of all their actors. The music, editing, & camerawork were all on point.
The Indie Comedy Thriller
GilbertS-8516 April 2020
For The Weekend follows a group of friends who heads out to the desert for a nice getaway in hopes of recapturing the good old days. Of course, some friends don't mix well with others, and after the property owner gives a strange, foreboding tour, everything goes downhill.
I would call this a comedy thriller, a unique genre than say the comedy action flick. With the slight comedic edge, the movie gets away with a lot. In the first six minutes, you get to know the main characters, not a small feat in itself, as many studio films cannot pull this off. From here on out, it's a fun and entertaining ride. The film is worth checking out as it capitalizes on one of those weekend experiences we've all had with a group of "friends," except this one turns into a possible murder mystery.

Waste of Time

Warning: Spoilers
This was one of the worst movies that I've seen in a really long time. The storyline seemed interesting and there were so many directions that this could have gone but it just fell short. A group of friends decide to rent out a home for the weekend to celebrate a birthday. From the beginning, you can tell that there is some animosity amongst them. We get the impression that the property owner is a creep and that someone is going to go missing. But for a long 45 minutes (like the first half of the movie) there is a build up until that person actually goes missing. Then the movie just flatlines from that point on. There were some unnecessary characters that didn't really add anything to the plot. Pretty unrealistic reactions and choices being made. There was no twist ending. No real mystery. I'm disappointed that I watched the whole thing.

Comedy???
Australian118 April 2020
I didn't even smirk or smile! It's not a thriller either as nothing really happens.
For a start, do ALL men think they look good unshaven? It's not a beard, it is just men looking like they haven't shaved for a few days, dirty, unkempt.
Not a fan of beards which can be a menu of whatever they ate.
But back to the movie:
No reason given for Margot keeping her door locked.
Abby inviting herself and then inviting Joe to join in the hot tub, and stay the night? If I was with a group of friends, I would voice my objection. Meant to be friends weekend not free for all.
Who would be stupid enough to believe a Neighborhood Watch when there is no one for 10 miles and not call the police?
Stupid movie, waste of time, even in isolation!

You won't make it to the end

In fairness it only took 12 minutes to realize two things: 1) this feels like an 8 hour movie, and 2) this could have been a great movie.
A group of thoroughly unlikeable (we're talking mute-button level) whiny characters leave town for a desert getaway none of them want to be on. Unfortunately for us, the camera follows them out into the desert. There we are treated to actors who can't act, a director who can't direct, a camera operator who doesn't know how, ridiculous dialog, and a plot that involves a mystery you really aren't too concerned about. What they made was a bad movie.
Now, if the camera had stayed behind and filmed the neighbors and families celebrating that this group of losers left town, THAT would have been a good movie. Imagine a huge block party of happy people having fun in the absence of those boat anchors on their lives. That would have been worth watching.
As it is the most I can go is three stars for I don't know, something. No stars for everything else.

Absolutely rubbish cant believe I just watched the whole film thinking something was going to happen, I should of looked on here before watching it my bad & I would rather watch paint dry it was that boring & unfunny.
Thriller with a bit of twist and a little comedy.

Surprisingly good. Not sure what to expect but gave this a try based on the reviews. It was good. Ensemble cast does a nice job and the script gave it a good depth. And it had me wondering how it would all play out in the end, which is the sign of a good movie. It was mostly a thriller, and delivers. Worth a watch.
Solid Indie flick with some funny and tense moments.

Group of friends' attempt to repair their strained relationship by celebrating a birthday at a remote desert home falls apart when one disappears and their lives are changed forever. It worked very well SOme genuinely tense and funny moments and solid work from the actors make this one worth your time.
Colossal time suck

I never leave reviews on movies but this one was just too terrible not to. The worst acting I've ever seen, but I've seen movies with bad acting where the plot made it worth it, so I hung in there. I was still waiting for something to happen when the credits rolled. I have no idea how there's even one positive review. It must be family and friends. There was literally no story line. I can appreciate a bad movie if you can at least see what they were going for. There is just no point. If I turned in a short story like this in school I would fail, they don't even follow the basics you learn in second grade for story telling. My advice, watch anything else. A documentary on straw for instance. I promise it'll be more entertaining.
Perfect film to watch with your friends on the weekend
jcanni21 April 2020
I really enjoyed this film. It worked for me on multiple levels. The characters were believable and relatable, people I felt I knew lol. Their interpersonal drama was very relatable too and kept me engaged and entertained. The film had some laughs too and some solid tension, and a satisfying climax. Good film to watch on the weekend with your buddies.
it's not a horror movie and it's not the worst movie ever made either
cali_996923 January 2021
Wow, so many reviews saying this is the worst movie ever. this is not nearly the worst movie ever. also, it's not a horror movie, it's an indie movie with some humor and suspense but it is not a horror movie so don't judge it based on what you expect from a horror movie.
Not bad
windsorenquirer20 April 2020
Actually the story isn't bad, acting is not great but still ok for what it is. Unfortunately it was recorded using some cheap hand held camera, shaky, out of focus etc., maybe a cellphone even and that is the main drawback here.
Great movie
carpur24 May 2021
The comedy was 'dry comedy' for all the people in these reviews who are far too 'basic' to understand what dry comedy is.
Best stick to your Jim Carey slapstick which somehow I tend to believe keeps you rolling in the aisles.
The acting was extremely good. It's very difficult to pull off this type of humor and make it work.
This movie is a complete winner for those of us who possess the ability of perception.
