Its Gerry's birthday but is Louisa going ever so slightly overboard with her relentless bonhomie? "Are you Happy now poppet?" What's the matter with Gerry?" He's going to have some fun, and I'm going to make sure he gets it".

Never mind Gerry you will survive this Birthday and your mothers embarrassing behaviour, but there are rather more to encounter in your future.

For mothers like Louisa never seem capable of preventing themselves, from being ever so slightly mumsy.

Lesley insists in joining in the enforced jollity engendered by Louisa, in organising outside actives in a plague of local insects. When there are no takers he will show them how its done, at whatever the cost.

Gerry finds to his intense dismay that when it comes to embarrassment in public gatherings, he can always rely on his brothers and sister to join their mum in piling it on thick and fast.

What is up with Spiros why is he so morose? Does Gerry really need Spiros angst, at his still young and impressionable age? Gerry's dog is a fine judge of music in its approach to Spiros musical endeavour. Will Larry prove more receptive to Spiros musical musings?

Just who would be a doctor? Never off duty even at a birthday party, is anyone of a different profession expected to be perennially on call?
